Industry Insider Teases Scarlet Witch’s Future in the MCU

For fans of the MCU, Elizabeth Olsen is best known for portraying Wanda Maximoff, also known as Scarlet Witch. She first appeared as the character in Captain America: The Winter Soldier back in 2014, meaning she has been playing the role for over a decade. Her most recent appearance was a voice role in What If…? The Avengers Assembled in 1602.

Although Scarlet Witch’s fate in the MCU remains uncertain, she is presumed dead at the moment. The rumors are loud that she will be back in one way or another, but at this point, nothing has been confirmed.

Fans desperately want her back, and Olsen herself confirmed that she would very much like to reprise her role.

Now, industry insider Alex Perez revealed one very interesting detail regarding her possible future in the MCU.

Perez said there was once an idea to bring Wanda Maximoff (Scarlet Witch) and Erik Lehnsherr (Magneto) together in the Avengers films. This would have been similar to the story in the animated show Wolverine and the X-Men, which Kevin Feige worked on in 2008.

However, that idea was dropped because Marvel is planning a soft reboot of the universe.

When someone else asked if Scarlet Witch would appear after Secret Wars, Alex said he thinks she will. But he also mentioned that Marvel is already getting her sons, Billy and Tommy, ready to take on a bigger role in the future.

Billy is already becoming an important part of the magical side of the MCU. He essentially had his own standalone story within Agatha All Along, where the powerful witch took him under her wing. This suggests that he’s likely to become a very powerful character in the future.

Rumors have also hinted that Billy may join the Young Avengers or Champions, making him a key player in the next generation of heroes. As for Tommy, he’s still considered “missing.” Billy is aware that his brother has been reincarnated, but it’s likely their reunion will happen off-screen.
