‘Nemesis’ is officially returning for season 2, promising fans even more twists, heightened danger, and another intense showdown between Isaiah Stiles and Coltrane Wilder.

The gripping crime thriller from creators Courtney A. Kemp and Tani Marole has been renewed by Netflix following a strong viewer response to the first season. Kemp shared the exciting news in an interview with Netflix’s Tudum, crediting the show’s return to the unwavering support from fans.

“I feel blessed to get a Season 2. We thank the fans, it’s because of them — there’s no other reason. It’s them showing up, them talking about it, and their huge social media response,” Kemp expressed. She also acknowledged Netflix for recognizing the significant impact the audience had on the series.

Season 2 will delve deeper into the complex rivalry between Detective Isaiah Stiles, portrayed by Matthew Law, and skilled thief Coltrane Wilder, played by Y’lan Noel. Their perilous game of cat and mouse will unfold across Los Angeles, with both characters facing new challenges following the shocking events of the first season.

Tani Marole hinted that the upcoming chapter will not simply mirror what fans have already witnessed. “We’re going to make sure questions get answered, and even more questions are available for you to answer,” Marole stated to Tudum. “Make no mistake, Season 2 is going to be bigger and better.”

The first season concluded with Stiles and Wilder still on opposing sides of the law. Their conflict intensified when Stiles’ son Noah, played by Cedric Joe, became entangled in their rivalry. In a bid to protect his child, Stiles allowed Wilder to escape, giving the thief the upper hand.

Wilder’s parting words to Stiles were a stark warning: “You were never gonna win!” Now, season 2 will provide Stiles the opportunity to retaliate and further their intense rivalry.

Kemp revealed that the creative team had already envisioned the story’s trajectory beyond the first season. “We didn’t pitch this concept without an idea of what we would do in Season 2,” she explained. “It’s going to be bigger and more intense, and we’re going to complicate the conflict between these two.”

While Stiles and Wilder will remain central to the narrative, the creators also aim to explore more of the supporting characters. Kemp noted that many viewers expressed interest in the female characters and their backstories.

“For me, what’s the most gratifying is people really getting attached to and focusing on the female characters,” Kemp remarked. She added that fans’ inquiries about Charlie and Ebony’s histories have opened the door for more stories involving them.

The new season will also introduce new characters to the world of ‘Nemesis’. Marole humorously noted that there are numerous possibilities following the events of season 1. “We killed a lot of people [in Season 1],” he said, hinting at the likelihood of new characters joining the storyline.
