Ryan Murphy has made a name for himself by bringing together star-studded casts that create buzz, and his Hulu legal drama is no exception. Despite facing a challenging reception from critics, the show’s cultural impact has kept it in the spotlight as it gears up for its next chapter.

This staying power was evident when Hulu swiftly renewed the series for a second season, even before the first season concluded. With production for the new season already wrapped, the cast is set to welcome an exciting new member.

According to an exclusive report, Hulu’s ‘All’s Fair’ is adding Brazilian actor and model Cauã Reymond to its regular cast for season 2. Reymond joins a star-studded ensemble that includes Kim Kardashian, Naomi Watts, Niecy Nash-Betts, Teyana Taylor, Matthew Noszka, Sarah Paulson, and Glenn Close, though the specifics of his character remain under wraps.

The series centers around Allura Grant, portrayed by Kardashian, who establishes a female-led divorce attorney firm alongside Liberty Ronson, played by Watts, and Emerald Greene, played by Nash-Betts. The team also features assistant Milan, played by Taylor, who becomes involved in an affair with Grant’s NFL husband, Chase Munroe, played by Noszka, after they leave a male-dominated firm backed by Dina Standish, played by Close.

The narrative follows the group as they navigate high-stakes breakups, scandalous secrets, and shifting loyalties both in the courtroom and among themselves, all while facing a fierce rivalry with competitor Carrington Lane, played by Paulson. This blend of dramatic storytelling and legal intrigue has become a hallmark of the show as it enters its sophomore season.

Reymond recently starred as a soccer player-turned-sports-agent in TV Globo’s ‘The Playoffs,’ a series he co-created and co-directed two episodes of. He is well-known in Brazil for his roles in major telenovelas like ‘Brazil Avenue’ and ‘Anything Goes,’ giving him significant star power as he steps into his first major American series regular role.

His filmography includes titles such as ‘Pedro,’ ‘Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea,’ and ‘Mercy,’ showcasing a career that spans decades in both television and film. Reymond is represented by Entertainment 360 and Goodman Genow Schenkman.

‘All’s Fair’ has become an intriguing case study in the disparity between critical reception and audience enthusiasm since its debut. Despite receiving a largely negative response from critics, the series emerged as Hulu’s biggest scripted series premiere in three years, amassing 3.2 million views globally within its first three days on the platform.

Teyana Taylor has addressed the show’s mixed critical reception, defending it during an appearance at the Governors Awards. “It’s our first season. Give us a little bit of grace,” Taylor said in an interview with Variety. She has also spoken about the strong bonds formed on set, emphasizing that regardless of audience reception, she has “gained sisters” through the experience.

Production on ‘All’s Fair’ season 2 has concluded, with filming taking place from May through August of this year. With Reymond confirmed as part of the cast, excitement is building around how his character will intertwine with the group’s already complex web of relationships and rivalries.

Given the show’s impressive viewership numbers despite critical backlash, ‘All’s Fair’ has clearly captured an audience that continues to engage regardless of reviews.
