Two New Post-Credits Scenes from ‘Avengers: Endgame Encore’ Leak Online
Marvel has been building excitement for its upcoming crossover event, and this week, that anticipation received a significant boost. Ahead of the theatrical re-release aimed at connecting one of the studio’s biggest successes with its next major project, new information has emerged online, revealing how the two films intertwine. Caution: heavy spoilers follow for those wishing to remain unspoiled.
‘Avengers: Endgame Encore,’ the re-released version of 2019’s ‘Avengers: Endgame,’ is set to hit theaters on September 25. Marvel positions this re-release as a direct lead-in to ‘Avengers: Doomsday,’ which premieres on December 18. The re-release features previously unseen footage designed to refresh fans before the studio’s next significant crossover event.
Recently, leaked details about the film’s post-credits scenes have surfaced online, reportedly from scooper MyTimeToShineHello, whose history with Marvel scoops lends credibility to the claims, despite no official confirmation from the studio. The first post-credits scene allegedly depicts the Time Variance Authority discovering that countless universes are colliding and being destroyed, setting the stage for the multiversal stakes central to ‘Doomsday.’
The second scene is rumored to be even more crucial, featuring Doctor Doom approaching Bruce Banner’s Hulk, who appears to be imprisoned in a military facility two miles underground after the events of ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day.’ According to the leak, Banner asserts that no one can enter or exit his containment, only for Doom’s voice to interrupt with, “Mr. Banner, I’m here to collect you,” confirming the Hulk’s involvement in ‘Avengers: Doomsday.’
In addition to the post-credits scenes, there are rumors that the film’s ending has also been modified for the re-release. It is said to include Loki and Mobius visiting Steve Rogers to discuss how his actions disrupted the timeline, before asking him to move to Earth-828, the universe that houses Marvel’s Fantastic Four. Coupled with the TVA sequence, the leaked information suggests that only a few realities, including Earth-616, Earth-828, and Earth-10005, remain intact by the time ‘Doomsday’ begins.

The push to draw audiences back into theaters for ‘Endgame Encore’ is intentional. Director Joe Russo shared with Fandango that the re-release is meant to create a direct connection between the stories of the two films. “There’s a natural progression from Endgame into Doomsday, which is also inclusive of all the other stories that have been playing out. But I think it’s important to see Endgame again in theaters for two reasons: One, you’re going to have a lot of fun … and two, I think it’s required viewing for following the story in Doomsday,” Russo stated in comments reported by The Hollywood Reporter.
His brother and co-director Anthony Russo added a more pointed tease about the amount of new material fans can expect, suggesting that anyone who watched the original 2019 release wouldn’t have anticipated the current direction of the story. This framing indicates that the added footage is not merely a nostalgic revisit but something that significantly reshapes how the narrative connects to Marvel’s next chapter.
If the leaked details are accurate, ‘Endgame Encore’ would represent a rare case of Marvel using a theatrical re-release to provide genuinely new story content rather than just repackaging old footage alongside a trailer for upcoming projects. Given that the original ‘Endgame’ grossed over $2 billion globally, the studio clearly sees substantial value in enticing audiences back to theaters, especially with ‘Doomsday’ being one of the most pivotal entries in the franchise’s ongoing Multiverse Saga.
With the re-release just around the corner, fans will soon discover how much of this leaked material holds true once the film debuts in theaters. Until then, speculation will likely continue regarding how the Hulk’s situation with Doctor Doom and the fate of the remaining universes will unfold when ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ finally premieres in December.
