‘Michael’ Star Laura Harrier Shines in Rubellite Necklace at Tiffany & Co. Opening
Jewelry brands have increasingly transformed their store openings into extravagant celebrity events, making ribbon cuttings feel more like red carpet occasions. Tiffany & Co. fully embraced this trend this week with the grand opening of its newly expanded flagship on the West Coast.
The iconic jeweler celebrated the launch of its newly expanded store at South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa, California, gathering a stylish crowd for a black-tie evening filled with high jewelry and old Hollywood glamour.

Among the highlights of the evening was Laura Harrier, who dazzled in a Bird on a Rock by Tiffany necklace made of platinum and yellow gold, featuring a stunning twelve-carat rubellite surrounded by diamonds. The wide neckline of her black FFORME dress beautifully showcased the statement piece, complemented by matching earrings and a ring.

Harrier was joined by fellow attendees Zoey Deutch, Charles Melton, and singer Ashe, all dressed to impress inside the newly designed 15,000-square-foot store by architect Peter Marino. Deutch sported a HardWear Color necklace in yellow gold adorned with pearls and turquoise, marking its first public appearance, while Melton accessorized with an aquamarine Bird on a Rock brooch and a Tiffany Timer Chronograph watch.
The evening unfolded as a black-tie affair, with guests entering through a deep-blue carpeted hallway adorned with screens featuring global ambassador Natalie Portman’s latest campaign before stepping into the store. Inside, attendees mingled among jewelry displays while enjoying champagne, white negronis, and white cosmos.
Tiffany & Co.’s North America president and CEO, Matthieu Garnier, addressed the audience before dinner, emphasizing local elements woven into the store’s design, including a gemstone found near Mesa Grande, California. “This is the only store with the Blue Box Café” outside of New York,” he said, raising a glass “to this new chapter of Tiffany on the West Coast,” according to WWD.
The Blue Box Café detail aligns with a broader expansion Tiffany has been developing around the concept, extending the brand’s signature dining experience beyond its flagship location. The store’s design also featured blue and violet floral arrangements inspired by California’s natural beauty, reinforcing the West Coast theme throughout the space.
Before dinner, a curtain reveal inside the store added a theatrical flair to the evening’s festivities, with the meal prepared by renowned chef Daniel Boulud. The guest list also included Anton Segerstrom, a partner in the family business behind South Coast Plaza, along with model Kelsey Merritt.
For Harrier, this appearance continues her trend of high-profile Tiffany moments over the past year. She previously attended the brand’s dinner celebrating its Tiffany HardWear collection campaign in New York, where she wore a sequin-covered slipdress paired with chain-link jewelry from the same collection.
Her fashion presence extends beyond red carpets and jewelry events. Earlier this year, Harrier collaborated with designer Tiffany Howell of Night Palm to launch an exclusive Crate & Barrel collection inspired by their mutual love for vintage cinema and fashion.
With her consistent appearances at Tiffany’s major events and her growing influence in home design, Harrier has quietly established herself as a notable style presence on the celebrity circuit. This latest rubellite moment only solidifies that reputation.
