Steve Rogers Is Back in ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ Hot Toys Reveals Chris Evans Figure
When Steve Rogers passed on his shield and shared that long-awaited dance with Peggy Carter at the conclusion of ‘Avengers: Endgame,’ many fans thought his journey had come to an end. Chris Evans himself seemed to agree, stating to Esquire in January that rumors of his return were untrue. This is why Steve’s return in ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ has been such a monumental surprise for Marvel enthusiasts.
The comeback was confirmed in a brief teaser that showcased Steve parking a motorcycle outside a rural home while cradling a newborn baby. This marks Evans’ first portrayal of the character in seven years. Following this, the full trailer hinted at an even more significant moment, featuring Steve meeting Thor and summoning Mjolnir to demonstrate his return from retirement.
On Oct. 2, MCU Film News unveiled a first look at Hot Toys’ Steve Rogers figure from ‘Avengers: Doomsday.’ The 1/6-scale collectible stands approximately 12 inches tall with 30 points of articulation, and the promotional images depict Steve in a black T-shirt and brown jacket, holding a cracked Mjolnir that crackles with blue lightning. This look is a stark contrast to the star-spangled suit fans remember.
The figure features a newly developed Evans head sculpt with separate rolling eyeballs, realistic skin textures, a detailed beard, and sculpted mid-length, brushed-back brown hair. The outfit includes a charcoal brown jacket, black T-shirt, olive-brown pants, a black belt, and black shoes. Hot Toys even sculpted his wedding ring on each left hand.

The standout accessory is Thor’s cracked Mjolnir, which features an LED light-up function and a translucent blue lightning effect. The figure also includes two pairs of silicone arms, one of which is a seamless pair designed for holding the hammer, along with eight interchangeable hands. A removable jacket and a display stand complete the set.
Hot Toys is offering several versions. The Special Edition in selected markets includes an exclusive life-size metal ring, while a Deluxe Version, still in development, adds a Sentinel-themed diorama base with LED lighting. Sneak-peek pricing in certain regions lists the standard edition at 1,557 Hong Kong dollars and the Deluxe at 2,142 Hong Kong dollars.
Pre-orders aren’t live yet, but they are anticipated soon on Sideshow Collectibles with a 2027 release date. This timeline gives collectors ample opportunity to decide whether to add Cap to their expanding ‘Doomsday’ shelf.
The figure’s casual appearance reflects how different Steve looks in the new film. Marvel has confirmed that Evans’ Steve will sport longer hair and a full beard, resembling his look from ‘Avengers: Infinity War,’ rather than the clean-cut soldier from earlier films. One outlet humorously noted that the new figure presents Cap as a regular guy, and fans have largely embraced this rugged style.
This also raises questions about Anthony Mackie’s Captain America, who remains part of the ‘Doomsday’ cast. Fans are curious about how both characters will coexist, though early merchandise suggests Steve will wield Mjolnir while Sam retains the shield. Evans has hinted that ‘Doomsday’ will be a brutal film for his character.
He used to be different.

Hot Toys’ Steve pairs perfectly with its Thor figure, revealed in September, which includes a light-up Mjolnir alongside Stormbreaker. The broader collection also features Professor X, Cyclops, Gambit, Magneto, and Doctor Doom, showcasing the impressive lineup of the film.
‘Avengers: Doomsday’ is set to hit U.S. theaters on Dec. 18, directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, and will see heroes from across the multiverse facing off against Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom. If this figure is any indication, Steve Rogers is making a comeback in a very different form.
