Life after ‘Outer Banks’ is taking shape for Madison Bailey. The fifth and final season of the Netflix drama premiered on Aug. 20, concluding a journey that started in 2020 and made the North Carolina native a household name as Kiara “Kie” Carrera.

The farewell was filled with emotion. In an interview with L’Officiel, she expressed her desire to “give everything that I could to this character for the last time.” She also shared her satisfaction with her character’s ending, noting that the cast “finished strong.”

Now, Bailey is back in the spotlight, thanks to a recent Instagram post. The actress shared images of herself relaxing outdoors in a leopard-print outfit. This laid-back photo comes as she embarks on a new chapter in her career.

The final season followed Kiara, John B, Sarah, Pope, and Cleo on one last adventure to find the Blue Crown from Chandler Groff. Rather than mourning JJ’s death in a conventional manner, Kiara dives into revenge mode, and the finale provides her with the closure she has been seeking.

However, the story isn’t completely over. A prequel titled ‘Kildare’ is already in development, giving fans of the franchise something to anticipate as the main series concludes.

Bailey appears to be taking her time in defining her next steps. In a recent interview with Schön!, the 27-year-old discussed closing one chapter while resisting the urge to neatly define the next. She mentioned an independent film she can’t disclose yet, along with new music she is waiting to unveil at the right moment.

She also reflected on her early success, stating, “I had a breakthrough when I was really young,” which has led some to perceive her as stuck in that version of herself. This perspective helps explain her current exploration of various creative avenues.

Behind the scenes, she has established a production company, currently showcasing a one-person play in Switzerland and developing a series for a streaming service that she co-wrote with a man in prison. She notes that her role as a producer has given her insight into the industry from a different angle.

Her acting career remains busy as well. She is involved in a vampire thriller titled ‘Flesh of the Gods,’ and another film, ‘Geister (Ghost Song),’ is set to premiere at the San Sebastian Film Festival. Additionally, she has a project named ‘A Winter’s Journey’ in the works.

Music continues to be a significant focus for her. In her L’Officiel profile, she reminisces about her “once-in-a-lifetime” journey with ‘Outer Banks’ while looking forward to her next chapter in music.

For now, her recent post serves as a snapshot of someone enjoying a break between major projects. Whatever she reveals next, she has a wealth of opportunities lined up, spanning film, music, and her behind-the-scenes work.
