‘Marshals’ Season 2 Release Date, Time, Trailer and Where to Watch as Kayce Dutton Goes Rogue
The anticipation is building for one of the most popular offshoots of ‘Yellowstone’ on TV. CBS renewed the series just twelve days after its March premiere, which attracted 9.52 million viewers according to Nielsen ratings. Now, ‘Marshals’ is set to return for its second season, with Kayce Dutton finding himself in a dire situation.
Fans have been eagerly speculating about how the show will resolve the intense cliffhanger from the first season. The series follows Kayce as he navigates the aftermath of the tragic deaths of both his father John and his wife Monica. Here’s everything you need to know before the Dutton family rides back onto your screens.
The first episode of ‘Marshals’ Season 2 will air on Sunday, October 4. Since that is today, you can catch it tonight. The timing varies by coast, with the East Coast airing it after ’60 Minutes’ at 8:30 p.m. ET and the West Coast at 8 p.m.
The premiere will air at 8:30/7:30c, and from the second episode onward, it will return to its regular 8/7c slot. Episodes will air on Sundays on CBS and will be available to stream on Paramount+ the following day. Additionally, the fourth season of ‘Tracker’ will follow in the fall schedule.
For those wanting to catch up, all episodes of the first season are available for streaming on Paramount+.
This new season promises to be even more expansive than the last. While the first season consisted of thirteen episodes, Luke Grimes has indicated that the second season will feature between eighteen and twenty episodes.
The season one finale left Kayce in a precarious position. It concluded with two hidden gunmen opening fire at Cal and Belle, while Tate embarked on a trip to Texas with Tom Weaver. Unbeknownst to Kayce, Tom was behind the attacks and had financed a kill squad to seize East Camp.

CBS has now unveiled what to expect in the premiere episode titled “All Hat No Cattle.” In this episode, Kayce discovers that Tate has been taken hostage and goes rogue in a frantic attempt to rescue his son. Meanwhile, the Marshals uncover a significant criminal operation linked to the East Camp land grab, leading to a violent confrontation that endangers everything Kayce holds dear.
The rest of the team is equally determined. Arielle Kebbel has mentioned that when it comes to Tate, everyone is fully committed and ready for action. She also hinted at Belle’s condition, noting that the character often finds herself in peril but continues to push through.
Almost all familiar faces will be returning for Season 2. The core cast includes Logan Marshall-Green as Pete “Cal” Calvin, Arielle Kebbel as Belle Skinner-Turek, Ash Santos as Andrea Cruz, and Tatanka Means as Miles. Brecken Merrill, Mo Brings Plenty, and Gil Birmingham will reprise their roles as Tate, Mo, and Thomas Rainwater.
Fans can also look forward to a special cameo from ‘Yellowstone.’ Jefferson White, who portrayed ranch hand Jimmy Hurdstrom, will return to reprise his role. Given that Tate is missing in Texas, Jimmy could play a crucial role in assisting Kayce with the rescue.
The supporting cast is also set to expand. One character from the first season will have a more significant presence, and Marque Richardson joins as a recurring character, an assistant U.S. attorney. This expanded role suggests more family drama, especially since Maddie recently began calling Cal “dad” before his cancer diagnosis.
The official trailer has arrived, packed with excitement. CBS released a two-minute preview, where Andrea refers to Kayce as a “chaos magnet.” Kayce also reveals that the Dutton legacy is not merely about land but about the constant struggle to fight.
The trailer alleviates some concerns regarding the finale’s gunfight. Key characters like Rainwater, Kayce, Cal, Belle, Miles, and Andrea are all featured, indicating that the shootout did not eliminate the main cast. The footage shows Kayce and the Marshals heading to Texas to rescue Tate, but his life quickly becomes endangered once again.
Production has been moving swiftly, with filming commencing in Park City, Utah, in June, just weeks after the first season finale aired in May. The trailer does not hint at any significant guest appearances from the Taylor Sheridan universe.
For a franchise centered on family, loyalty, and tough choices, the stakes have never felt more personal than a father pursuing his kidnapped son across state lines. If Kayce continues to disregard the rules to bring Tate home, can the Marshals shield him from the consequences, or has he finally crossed the line?
