‘Reacher’ Drops in Prime Video Charts as Spinoff ‘Neagley’ Takes Over
For much of the last two months, ‘Reacher’ has dominated Prime Video. Alan Ritchson’s formidable ex-military cop has emerged as one of the platform’s biggest attractions, with each new season generating expectations of chart supremacy. The franchise has now expanded from a single series into a burgeoning universe.
This expansion has altered the dynamics of the charts. When ‘Reacher’ season 4 debuted on August 12 with three episodes, followed by weekly releases culminating in a September 16 finale, it consistently held the top position on Prime Video’s lists. However, the introduction of the franchise’s first spinoff marked the beginning of a shift.
As per data from FlixPatrol, ‘Reacher’ is now the 4th most-watched title on Prime Video’s Top 10 Overall in the United States. This decline is significant for a series that previously spent weeks at or near the top. The drop can be attributed to competition from within the franchise and a wave of new arrivals.

The primary factor is ‘Neagley’, the first ‘Reacher’ spinoff, which premiered with all eight episodes on September 16, coinciding with the season 4 finale. Starring Maria Sten as Frances Neagley, the series follows Jack Reacher’s former military protégé as a private investigator in Chicago. Ritchson makes a guest appearance as Reacher, and the show was developed by Nick Santora and Nicholas Wootton.
Within days, ‘Neagley’ surpassed its parent show to claim the number one spot. ‘Reacher’ briefly fell to second place, still holding strong against both films and series. Critics have responded positively to the spinoff, with a Rotten Tomatoes score hovering around 92% to 93%.
Recent changes in the charts are also influenced by new releases. The film ‘Now You See Me: Now You Don’t’ currently ranks second overall, while Mike Flanagan’s ‘Carrie’ series has secured third place. Both titles debuted on Prime Video on October 2.
On the TV-only chart, the situation mirrors this trend. ‘Neagley’ holds the top position, ‘Carrie’ is in second, and ‘Reacher’ has slipped to third. This gradual decline marks a clear shift from its dominant summer run.
It’s essential to contextualize this drop. A show that has been out for weeks and completed its season will naturally lose traction to fresh content. ‘Reacher’ has also faced competition for some time, including a romance film that briefly dethroned it in September.
The franchise remains robust overall. The previous season of ‘Reacher’ attracted 54.6 million viewers globally within its first 19 days, and the series has been renewed for a fifth season, which will adapt Lee Child’s novel ‘Make Me’. Production for that season is currently underway, with a projected release sometime in 2027.

Interest in the broader Jack Reacher franchise has also surged, with the 2012 film ‘Jack Reacher’ recently climbing the Prime Video movie charts, and its sequel ‘Jack Reacher: Never Go Back’ also gaining traction. Recent reports indicate renewal news for both ‘Reacher’ and ‘Neagley’, suggesting that Amazon recognizes the long-term potential of this universe.
However, not everything has gone smoothly. Season 4 has received a more modest audience score on Rotten Tomatoes compared to earlier seasons, which some outlets have noted is the lowest for any Prime Video series to date. Nevertheless, the critical reception remains largely positive.

The fluctuations in the charts indicate a healthy franchise. Having two ‘Reacher’ titles near the top of the same list is a challenge most streaming services would welcome. A drop to 4th place hardly diminishes the broader narrative.
Prime Video is also motivated to maintain this momentum. With a spinoff, a renewed flagship series, and revived interest in older films, the property is being positioned as a long-term cornerstone. Viewers have plenty to enjoy while awaiting the next season.
