Jessica Biel (44) Dares in a Plunging Black Nensi Dojaka Gown at ‘Matchbox’ Press Tour
Jessica Biel is making a significant return to the big screen, and she’s been dressing the part at every event. Currently in the midst of a press tour for ‘Matchbox: The Movie’, her first film in nine years, her red carpet wardrobe has generated as much buzz as the film itself. Following a bold appearance in New York, she continued the trend with another daring outfit across the Atlantic.
The premiere circuit has turned into a showcase for Biel’s adventurous approach to high fashion. Each appearance seems to push boundaries further than the last.
For the London screening of ‘Matchbox: The Movie’ on Oct. 7, Biel donned a striking black strapless gown by Nensi Dojaka, featuring a deep, plunging center opening and sheer mesh detailing below the bust. The dress showcased sculptural draping across the chest, dramatic waist cutouts that created a corseted effect, and a long, narrow skirt that hugged her hips down to the floor. Her high ponytail drew attention to the neckline.
She completed the ensemble with oversized gold Schiaparelli drop earrings, opting out of necklaces, bracelets, and rings. The overall effect felt minimalist in color yet maximalist in attention to detail.

Reports highlight her glowing skin, dark mascara, soft brown eyeshadow, and a nude lip, creating a beauty look that allowed the dress to take center stage. Her stylists for the evening were Mariel Haenn and Rob Zangardi. The earrings, from Schiaparelli’s Anatomic Bijoux collection, feature motifs of ears, lips, and eyes in yellow gold.
Nensi Dojaka, a London-based designer, crafted a gown with clean lines, a sharp neckline, and a structured silhouette, giving the evening an air of sophistication despite the revealing design.

Biel’s London look followed her appearance at the film’s New York premiere on Oct. 5 at the AMC Lincoln Square Theater. There, she sported a Dolce & Gabbana blazer worn open over her bare torso, paired with a sheer black floor-length skirt and pointed black satin pumps. She also debuted a new, waist-length hairstyle complemented by Cartier diamond earrings.
Her husband, Justin Timberlake, showed his support by attending in a teal green blazer, although he did not pose for photos. John Cena, her co-star, was also present with his wife, Shay Shariatzadeh, and the couple coordinated in green.
Biel has showcased a variety of outfits throughout the promotional trail. Reports indicate she has been seen in a fringed bomber-and-skirt set, a black leather jacket over a white T-shirt and black jeans, and a gray Michael Kors blazer and trousers. For a television appearance, she opted for an ivory Self-Portrait silk top and trousers.
Collectively, these looks illustrate a star seamlessly transitioning between relaxed daytime outfits and high-drama evening wear. It’s a savvy strategy for a promotional run designed to capture attention at every opportunity.
The film premieres today on Apple TV. It is an Apple Original from Skydance Media and Mattel Films, inspired by Mattel’s Matchbox toys, and is rated PG-13. Directed by Sam Hargrave, known for ‘Extraction’, the action-adventure film is based on a script by David Coggeshall.
Cena portrays Sean, the long-absent leader of a group of childhood friends who is secretly an undercover CIA agent. Upon his return to their small town, he draws them into an international chase to save the world. Biel stars alongside Sam Richardson, Arturo Castro, Teyonah Parris, Corey Stoll, Bill Camp, Danai Gurira, and Golshifteh Farahani.

This film marks Biel’s first feature since 2017’s ‘Shock and Awe’, though she has remained active in television, earning a Critics Choice nomination for Prime Video’s ‘The Better Sister’. The press tour provides her with an opportunity to reintroduce herself to movie audiences, and her fashion choices have ensured that each stop generates conversation. With the film now streaming, the focus shifts from the red carpet to the screen.
If her red carpet strategy is any indication, she is more than ready to do it with style.
