‘Burlesque’ Star Christina Aguilera (45) Dazzles in Gothic Sheer Bodysuit and Thigh-High Boots
Christina Aguilera has always been a bold presence on the red carpet. Throughout her extensive career, she has embraced fashion as an essential aspect of her artistry, and her latest appearance exemplified this approach.
This time, the occasion was a health event in Los Angeles, where her look was nothing short of dramatic.
Aguilera attended MISTR’s second annual National PrEP Day celebration at The Abbey in Los Angeles on October 10. MISTR is an online health platform, and the event aims to raise awareness about its initiatives.
This event marks a return, as the inaugural celebration took place at The Abbey last October, featuring a surprise performance by Dua Lipa alongside drag performers such as Aquaria, Plastique Tiara, Trinity the Tuck, Symone, and Shea Couleé.

For the blue carpet, Aguilera, 45, opted for a striking all-black outfit. She donned a sheer black bodysuit adorned with cross motifs, layered over a delicate lace bra with intricate embroidery.
On the bottom, she sported high-waisted black leather briefs with lace-up sides. Garters trailing from her hips connected to skin-toned fishnet tights, adding a vintage flair.
The cross motifs were a highlight, imparting a gothic vibe to the entire ensemble. It was a deliberately theatrical choice.

She completed the look with black suede thigh-high boots that extended to the tops of her legs. The boots featured thin high heels, pointed toes, lacing, and sheer sections with a geometric design.
Her hair cascaded in long platinum waves, complemented by a bold smoky eye and a natural lip color. The contrast between her dark makeup and bright blonde hair made her black outfit pop against the vibrant blue backdrop.
Many viewers noted that the ensemble evoked memories of her iconic era during the release of her hit ‘Dirrty’, a reference that fans have frequently made in recent months.

Aguilera’s outfit aligns with a trend she has embraced in 2026, favoring bodysuits and thigh-high boots. In September, she shared clips from a gala performance in Monaco where she wore a black velvet strapless bodysuit paired with fishnet stockings and thigh-high boots.
During that performance, she changed looks, adding a statement body chain, a pink ruffle train, a leather jacket, sunglasses, and a front bow. Constants in her style included matching gloves, shimmering makeup, and her signature blonde hair styled in a high half-up, half-down ponytail.
She has also sported a red leather corset bodysuit with a floor-length fur coat at a festival in Austin, and a gray corset bodysuit by London-based designer Rafaela Pestritu for performances in Mexico and Costa Rica. Her stylist for many of these stunning looks is Chris Horan.

Aguilera has consistently leveraged her platform for health and wellness advocacy. She co-founded the sexual wellness personal care brand Playground and participated in a conversation about women’s health with Halle Berry.
At that event, she wore thigh-high boots with a Blumarine outfit, showcasing a sharper take on her usual style. Thigh-high boots have become somewhat of a signature for her, as she wore a black pair to the reopening of H&M’s flagship store in Times Square.
Her history of supporting health causes is well-documented, with performances at galas for HIV and AIDS research and cancer treatment fundraisers. Her appearance at MISTR’s event continues this important tradition.
Part of the audience’s reaction stems from nostalgia. Aguilera built her image on bold, provocative fashion, and her nods to early 2000s style resonate with fans who grew up admiring those looks.
The gothic elements also felt fresh. Cross motifs, lace, and garter details create a darker mood compared to her glittery stage costumes, perfectly suited for the late-night event.
At 45, she remains fearless in fully committing to her fashion concepts. With a busy performance schedule and new styles constantly emerging, it seems she is just getting started.
