Jenna Ortega has a talent for turning even a brief walk between appointments into a fashion statement. The latest instance is the Jenna Ortega BBC London sighting, coinciding with her newest film’s international promotional run. Here’s what this trip entails and its significance for the upcoming months.

Ortega’s schedule is undeniably packed. She stars in ‘Wednesday’ for Netflix, where season 3 was greenlit in July 2025 and is currently filming in Dublin. A first-look image hints at an exciting Paris adventure for Wednesday and Thing. The new season is anticipated to premiere in 2027, and she has also joined J.J. Abrams’ ‘The Great Beyond’ alongside Glen Powell, set to release in October 2027.

At present, her attention is on ‘Klara and the Sun,’ directed by Taika Waititi and based on a novel by Kazuo Ishiguro. Ortega portrays Klara, an artificial friend eager to find a loving home, whose narrative intertwines with Josie, a young woman grappling with her relationship with her mother. The film features co-stars Amy Adams, Steve Buscemi, Natasha Lyonne, Simon Baker, and Aran Murphy as Rick.

On October 14, Ortega was spotted outside the BBC studios in Central London, donning a camel-brown wrap-style coat dress to combat the autumn chill. She completed the look with pointed black ankle-strap heels and styled her hair in a high ponytail. A BBC London sign was visible behind her, and fans noted the early 70s vibe of her ponytail and coat.

This sighting coincided with the first day of the film’s promotional tour. That same day, Ortega attended an official UK photocall for ‘Klara and the Sun’ at The Corinthia Hotel in London. She wore Calvin Klein from the spring 2027 runway, accentuated with a small silk scarf detail, and paired it with Christian Louboutin shoes.

She was accompanied by Waititi and Adams for the photocall, and her dog Twigs garnered plenty of attention as well. Ortega adopted Twigs during the filming of ‘Wednesday’ in Ireland, and one outlet humorously noted that the duo appeared as two disaffected stars supporting each other through press obligations. The dog even seemed to match her owner’s outfit.

The timing is strategic. ‘Klara and the Sun’ is set to screen as a headline gala at the 70th BFI London Film Festival on October 15. It will then open in Australia and New Zealand on October 22, followed by its U.S. release on October 23.

This film marks a return to directing for Waititi after a hiatus. With Ishiguro’s source material and Ortega’s rising star power, this release is highly anticipated. Ortega is also scheduled to appear on ‘Late Night with Seth Meyers’ on October 19 to further promote the film.

Fan reactions to the BBC photos have centered on two main themes: her fashion choices and her upcoming television return. One commenter wondered if the outing was related to ‘Klara and the Sun’ promotion, while another expressed excitement for ‘Wednesday’ season 3. Some joked about her mini hemline in the autumn weather, while others felt inspired to embrace the cooler season.

Ortega’s recent career decisions indicate a clear desire for variety. Transitioning from ‘Wednesday’ and horror hits to an artificial intelligence companion in a literary sci-fi drama is a significant shift. Audience reactions to her in this tender, more introspective role could influence her future projects.

For now, the London segment of the tour is just beginning, and there’s much more to come leading up to the U.S. release. Ortega is likely to continue making fashion headlines along the way, with Twigs possibly stealing a few more scenes. Her appearance at the BBC has already placed her in the spotlight.
