Hideo Kojima Has Seen ‘Brave New World’ and He Is Confused

Hideo Kojima shared his thoughts on the new Captain America: Brave New World film after watching it in IMAX. He seemed a bit confused about Sam Wilson’s journey to becoming Captain America.
“I vaguely remember Sam receiving the shield in ‘Endgame’, but when did he officially become Cap?” he said. Kojima also wondered if his confusion was because he hadn’t seen The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, which explains some of the gaps in his understanding of Sam’s transformation.
The movie also left Kojima puzzled about the state of the Avengers. He asked, “What’s this about the Avengers being reorganized?” The shift in the team’s lineup and direction was something he wasn’t fully clear on.
To add to his confusion, he admitted that he was mixing up Captain America: Brave New World with the Thunderbolts trailer. The two projects seem to blur together for him, as both are part of the larger Marvel Cinematic Universe.

For anyone who may have missed it, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier was where Sam officially became Captain America, which helps explain some of the questions Kojima had. And as for the Avengers, they’ve been restructured with new members, something that becomes clearer in the film.
It seems like even seasoned creators like Kojima can get a bit tangled in the MCU’s vast network of stories and characters. But then again, we all sometimes find ourselves mixing up plotlines and details from this ever-expanding universe.
