Every red carpet season has its rituals, and for London’s fashion scene, the Albies has become a staple event. This annual evening, hosted by the Clooney Foundation for Justice, combines serious purpose with high glamour, attracting stars who arrive in their finest attire, with some opting for bolder choices.

The 2026 edition marked the fifth year of the awards, taking place on October 9 at London’s Natural History Museum. Hosted by George and Amal Clooney, with Amal dazzling in a shimmering gold Gucci gown, the event honors individuals who have risked everything for justice and human rights, named after anti-apartheid hero Albie Sachs.

Among the celebrities present, one look had the fashion world buzzing before the night concluded. Emily Ratajkowski made a statement in a black, semi-sheer, floor-length gown that spoke volumes through its transparency. The long-sleeved dress featured a high neckline, a fitted silhouette, and a subtle train that trailed behind her.

Adorned with shimmering metallic detailing and floral patterns over the bust, Ratajkowski went braless, with her black underwear visible through the delicate fabric. Reports hailed it as a prime example of her ability to elevate the naked dress trend.

With such a daring gown, she opted for simple styling. Her brunette hair was styled long and straight with a center part, while her makeup featured a bold smoky eye and a nude lip. Without any distracting accessories, the Gucci creation remained the focal point.

Photos captured her posing against dark velvet curtains, enhancing the sparkle of the lace-like fabric. In one image, she stands in profile with her hands relaxed at her sides, while another showcases the full length of the gown and its train.

Ratajkowski, 35, didn’t attend solo. She was accompanied by her boyfriend, French filmmaker Romain Gavras, making it a date night at one of London’s most glamorous charity events. The couple posed together at the Natural History Museum, providing a stunning backdrop for the evening.

This appearance continued a year of bold red carpet moments for the model. Just days earlier, at the MTV Video Music Awards, she wore a striking red-and-black George Trochopoulos dress featuring enormous side cutouts and an open back. Fashion reporters noted that her Albies look continues her trend of sheer, underwear-baring styles this year.

Ratajkowski was not alone on the carpet. Emma Thompson, Hannah Waddingham, Josh Hartnett, Isla Fisher, Melinda French Gates, Anna Wintour, and Donatella Versace were also in attendance, along with Felicity Jones, Joel Edgerton, and Bianca Jagger.

Myha’la Herrold also opted for a sheer white lace gown, ensuring the night was filled with transparent fashion. However, Ratajkowski’s dark, sparkling, high-necked gown stood out for its blend of conservative lines and daring exposure. The contrast between the covered neckline and the sheer fabric kept the look playful rather than overdone.

Naked dresses can be a risky choice, especially at a charity gala, but Ratajkowski has made them her signature. The long sleeves and floor-length hem provided a classic silhouette, while the fabric added drama. Minimal styling helped the overall look feel confident rather than careless.

As the evening’s photographs continue to circulate, her gown is poised to be one of the most talked-about moments from the Albies. It also solidifies her reputation as one of the red carpet’s most daring risk-takers. Not every guest could pull off a dress like this, but she made it look effortless.
