On January 10, 2026, Miami once again became a meeting point for filmmakers, artists, and creative thinkers from around the world as the fifth edition of the international FOLLOW YOUR HEART Film Festival unfolded at Hilton Miami Aventura. More than a traditional film event, the festival presented itself as a living cultural space—where cinema engaged in dialogue with fashion, contemporary art, and emerging visual forms.

Over the course of five years, FOLLOW YOUR HEART has grown into a distinctive independent platform devoted to artistic authorship and cross-disciplinary exchange. Rather than confining itself to rigid genre boundaries, the festival explores how cinema intersects with visual culture at large—inviting new perspectives, formats, and modes of storytelling.

The 2026 edition was realized in partnership with Hilton Miami Aventura, whose modern architecture and refined atmosphere became an organic extension of the festival’s identity. The venue functioned not merely as a location, but as part of the visual narrative itself. Approximately 300 guests attended the screenings and fashion presentations, reinforcing FOLLOW YOUR HEART’s position as one of Miami’s notable cultural events at the start of the year.

Founded and directed by producer and filmmaker Oxana Nechaeva, the festival has remained true to its core philosophy: cinema as an author-driven art form and a space for meaningful cultural conversation. Under her direction, FOLLOW YOUR HEART continues to evolve as an international meeting point for filmmakers, creatives, and industry professionals seeking depth over spectacle.

The fashion program—an essential element of the festival’s structure—was curated by international fashion producer Valentina Varnavskaia, who oversaw both the runway presentations and their visual integration into the cinematic context of the event. Event coordination on behalf of the venue was led by Tatiana Pustovit, Event Manager at Hilton Miami Aventura.

Festival programming and the official competition were headed by Albert Rudnitsky, Programming Director and Chairman of the Jury, who shaped a selection grounded in artistic integrity, originality, and emotional resonance.

The awards ceremony was hosted by television presenter and journalist Ekaterina Odintsova, whose composed moderation and elegant presence provided a seamless transition between competitive and non-competitive segments, maintaining the evening’s rhythm and tone.

New Formats and Global Context

In 2026, FOLLOW YOUR HEART introduced Vertical Cinema, a non-competitive section dedicated to vertical filmmaking—an acknowledgment of shifting viewing habits and the emergence of new cinematic languages shaped by mobile and digital platforms.

Special recognition was given to producer Dan Tilmor, whose participation highlighted the festival’s growing relevance within the international film industry. His professional background includes involvement in high-level selection and evaluation processes connected to Academy Awards®-related projects, underscoring the festival’s alignment with global cinematic standards.

The non-competitive program also featured Clown Story, directed by Albert Rudnitsky. In 2025, Rudnitsky served as a script supervisor on Anora, a film that went on to receive five Academy Awards® and the Palme d’Or at the Cannes Film Festival—an achievement that added further contextual weight to the festival’s programming.

Fashion as Narrative

Fashion once again proved to be a defining element of FOLLOW YOUR HEART. The 2026 runway featured collections by DrevelmaN and La Magnetique, each offering a distinct visual statement.

Designed by Artem Drevelman, DrevelmaN presented a dramatic collection focused on scale, light, and emotional intensity. La Magnetique, created by Kateryna Frumina, offered a pajama-inspired line distinguished by elegance, subtle playfulness, and refined silhouettes.

The fashion presentations were supported by the Dana Lekus Beauty Team, led by international beauty expert Dana Lekus, with contributions from an international group of makeup artists and hair stylists. Musical direction throughout the evening was provided by DJ Tanya Coleman, maintaining a cohesive and dynamic atmosphere.

A Multidisciplinary Jury

The 2026 jury brought together professionals from cinema, fashion, visual arts, and media—reflecting the festival’s interdisciplinary ethos. The jury included directors, producers, cinematographers, designers, editors, artists, and beauty industry experts with extensive international experience, forming a broad evaluative perspective that extended beyond cinema alone.
