Kelly Rowland and Method Man Rom-Com ‘Relationship Goals’ on Amazon

Amazon’s MGM Studios is set to release Relationship Goals, a new romantic comedy based on Michael Todd’s bestselling book Relationship Goals: How to Win at Dating, Marriage, and Sex.

The project features Kelly Rowland (known for Mea Culpa) and Cliff ‘Method Man’ Smith (from Power Book II: Ghost) in the lead roles. Also joining them are Robin Thede, creator and star of A Black Lady Sketch Show, and actress Annie Gonzalez, known for Flamin’ Hot.

The movie focuses on the journey of finding lasting love and maintaining a healthy relationship. Based on Todd’s viral sermon series, the book spent 13 weeks on the New York Times bestseller list and even debuted at No. 1 on Amazon.

The script was written by Laura Lekkos, with Michael Elliot and Cory Tynan contributing to earlier drafts. Rowland and Bart Lipton will serve as executive producers, and DeVon Franklin will produce the film. Linda Mendoza, known for Survival of the Thickest, is set to direct.

Kelly Rowland has appeared in several films and TV series, such as Think Like A Man and Freddy vs. Jason. She also produced and starred in Merry Liddle Christmas Baby and her docuseries Chasing Destiny.

Method Man, known for his role as Davis MacLean on Power Book II: Ghost, has won multiple NAACP Image Awards and is set to appear in Poker Face Season 2.

Robin Thede recently starred in Candy Cane Lane and previously hosted The Rundown with Robin Thede on BET. Gonzalez has credits in Flamin’ Hot, Drive-Away Dolls, and several TV shows like Gentefied and Shameless.

With a talented cast and team behind it, Relationship Goals is shaping up to be a must-watch romantic comedy.
