Luca Guadagnino’s Upcoming Thriller, ‘After the Hunt,’ Starring Julia Roberts and Andrew Garfield, Confirms Fall Release

This fall, Luca Guadagnino is bringing another gripping drama to the big screen. After the Hunt, a psychological thriller starring Julia Roberts, Ayo Edebiri, and Andrew Garfield, is set for a limited release on October 10, before expanding nationwide a week later.
The film will open alongside Blumhouse’s horror sequel The Black Phone 2 and Lionsgate’s comedy Good Fortune, featuring Aziz Ansari, Keanu Reeves, and Seth Rogen.
In After the Hunt, Roberts plays a college professor caught in a professional and personal crisis. When one of her top students, played by Edebiri, accuses a fellow professor—portrayed by Garfield—of misconduct, her world starts to unravel.
As she navigates the controversy, an unsettling secret from her past threatens to surface, making the situation even more dangerous. The cast also includes Michael Stuhlbarg and Chloë Sevigny.
Guadagnino, known for Call Me by Your Name, Bones and All, and last year’s hit Challengers, is directing from a script by first-time screenwriter Nora Garrett. The project is produced by Brian Grazer, Allan Mandelbaum, and Guadagnino himself, with backing from Amazon MGM and Imagine Entertainment.
