‘Yellowjackets’ Star Sophie Thatcher Dazzles in Sculptural Gold Dress in New Photos
Sophie Thatcher has established a unique presence in Hollywood, seamlessly transitioning from prestige television to horror, music, and high fashion. Her blend of edge and elegance keeps audiences eager to see what she will do next.
Recently, Thatcher has been particularly busy, walking the red carpet at the Academy Museum Gala in Los Angeles on October 17, followed by her 26th birthday the next day.
A new set of photos showcases her versatility. One image features a behind-the-scenes glimpse of her long, dark hair being styled, complemented by soft makeup and a white strapless top. Another striking portrait captures her in a sculptural metallic gold dress with a corset-like bodice and a dramatic ruffled skirt.
These images tell a compelling story, transitioning from relaxed preparation to full editorial glamour. This evolution aligns with her rising status as a fashion icon, highlighted by her role in Valentino’s Fall 2025 campaign and her front-row attendance at the Louis Vuitton show during Paris Fashion Week on October 6.

Thatcher’s breakout role came from ‘Yellowjackets’, where she captivated audiences as the teenage Natalie. She has since starred in horror films like ‘The Boogeyman’ and ‘Heretic’, as well as the sci-fi thriller ‘Companion’, earning her a Critics’ Choice Super Award. Forbes recognized her on its 2026 30 Under 30 list for Hollywood and Entertainment.
In addition to acting, Thatcher is also a musician. She released her debut EP in 2024 and made her live performance debut at a Prada Mode installation at the Hotel Chelsea this year, showcasing her commitment to her music career.

Her latest project is ‘Her Private Hell’, a neon-infused sci-fi thriller directed by Nicolas Winding Refn, marking his first feature since ‘The Neon Demon’ in 2016. Thatcher stars as Elle alongside Charles Melton, Havana Rose Liu, and Kristine Froseth. The film premiered at the Cannes Film Festival on May 18, receiving a standing ovation that lasted over seven minutes.
Though ‘Her Private Hell’ was released in the US on July 24, it reportedly earned only $1.2 million at the box office, with early reviews being mixed, which is typical for Refn’s avant-garde style.

The film’s release comes at a pivotal moment in her career. A profile in Cultured notes that Thatcher is contemplating a break from acting as ‘Yellowjackets’ concludes after four seasons, potentially stepping away from the horror genre. However, the music and fashion industries are ready to embrace her.

Don’t count her out of film just yet. She is set to star in ‘Cavendish’, an action-thriller set during the witch hunts of 1645, where she plays a young bride accused of witchcraft on her wedding day. Erin Kellyman and Joe Alwyn co-star, with Christopher Andrews directing.
Whatever path she chooses next, Thatcher continues to make bold and memorable choices both on-screen and on the red carpet.
