Marvel Swimsuit Special Returns This July with Bonus Marvel Rivals Skin, Check Out All The Covers

Marvel’s famous swimsuit comic is making a big comeback this summer. The new special, called Marvel Swimsuit Special: Friends, Foes & Rivals #1, comes out on July 9, and it brings back the classic mix of fun, fashion, and fan-favorite characters in their beach best.

This one-shot comic has a story by Tim Seeley and Tony Fleecs, with art by Nick Bradshaw. The star of the issue is Janet Van Dyne, also known as the Wasp, who’s showing off her fashion skills in a globe-trotting swimsuit-themed adventure.

Along the way, fans will see tons of stylish and fun artwork featuring both heroes and villains in summer mode.

Lots of big-name artists are joining the fun, including Mirka Andolfo, Mahmud Asrar, Joshua Cassara, Nic Klein, Aaron Kuder, Ron Lim, David Marquez, Marguerite Sauvage, Luciano Vecchio, and Ryusei Yamada. The comic also features several variant covers by artists like Adam Hughes, Mark Brooks, Taurin Clarke, Russell Dauterman, Terry Dodson, Pablo Villalobos, and Lucas Werneck.

One of the cool extras in this issue is a redeemable code for Marvel Rivals. Readers who pick up the comic will get a digital code for a special skin called The Unlimited Thing, which they can use in the game.

There’s a funny twist, too. In the comic, the company Roxxon puts out their own unauthorized swimsuit special. That leads the Wasp to jump in and organize Marvel’s official fashion shoot. It’s part of the story, but let’s be real, fans are really here for the eye-catching art and fun vibes. As Marvel puts it, “we know what you’re REALLY here for!”
