With ‘Supergirl’ set to hit theaters on June 26, 2026, the promotional campaign for James Gunn’s second DCU film is gaining momentum. Fans are being treated to a steady stream of merchandise, promotional art, and collectibles, each providing new insights into the vibrant world crafted by director Craig Gillespie.

The film features Milly Alcock as Kara Zor-El, who is portrayed as an imperfect and rebellious character. The storyline draws inspiration from the 2021 comic book series of the same name, penned by Tom King and illustrated by Bilquis Evely.

Blending action, character-driven drama, and humor within a sci-fi framework, the film has already sparked comparisons to other space-themed superhero franchises due to its striking visuals and unexpected tonal shifts. Alongside Alcock, Matthias Schoenaerts takes on the role of the villainous Krem of the Yellow Hills, while Eve Ridley plays Ruthye Mary Knolle, and David Krumholtz and Emily Beecham portray Kara’s parents, Zor-El and Alura.

However, it is Jason Momoa’s portrayal of Lobo that has captivated DC fans the most in the lead-up to the film’s release. New images of a stunning Iron Studios statue based on Lobo’s cinematic appearance have surfaced online, showcasing the Czarnian bounty hunter in all his intimidating glory: clad in a long coat, adorned with skulls, and gripping his iconic axe, with a chain hanging at his side. The intricate details of the statue have garnered enthusiastic reactions across social media.

DC Studios first teased Lobo’s comic-accurate hooked axe at the annual CCXP convention in Brazil in December 2025. The DCU version remains true to the original design, featuring a large curved blade and a dangling chain, confirming the creative direction for the character and igniting excitement among fans.

While Lobo is not expected to be the film’s primary antagonist, with Schoenaerts’ Krem of the Yellow Hills rumored to take that role, Momoa’s character is anticipated to play a significant part in the future of the DC universe.

Iron Studios has been actively releasing ‘Supergirl’ collectibles leading up to the film’s debut. An earlier Lobo figure available for pre-order depicted the Czarnian anti-hero in his signature jacket, with a gun slung over his shoulder, a cigar in his mouth, and his loyal companion Dawg by his side, priced at $249.99 as part of the Art Scale 1/10 collection. The latest movie-accurate statue takes the design further, fully embracing the brutal, battle-worn aesthetic that the film aims to portray.

Comic writer Tom King has mentioned that Lobo was initially part of his original pitch for the source material, but his editors suggested focusing solely on Supergirl. The character’s reintegration into the film adaptation adds a poetic touch to the project. With the collectibles, promotional art, and growing anticipation, Lobo is poised to be one of the most discussed aspects of what could be a landmark summer for the DCU.
