New ‘Kraken’ Trailer Reveals a Mythical Sea Monster Awakening from the Depths
A fresh trailer for the Norwegian creature film Kraken is reigniting deep-sea fears, showcasing a mysterious force stirring beneath the ocean’s surface.
The narrative centers on marine biologist Johanne, who begins to observe strange and unsettling occurrences while working at a fish farm in Norway. The situation escalates following the violent deaths of two teenagers in the vicinity, leading the investigation to a secluded fjord where something colossal is thought to be lurking in the depths.
The film introduces the concept of a giant mythical creature residing far below the surface, depicted in the trailer as a massive entity with numerous arms, capable of crushing anything in its path. The setting is crucial, with the deep waters of Norway’s fjords becoming the focal point of the mystery.
Kraken stars Sara Khorami in the lead role, alongside Mikkel Bratt Silset, Ingvild Holthe Bygdnes, Jenny Evensen, and Steinar Klouman Hallert.
Directed by Pål Øie, known for his work on The Tunnel, the screenplay is crafted by Vilde Eide, Kjersti Jelen Rasmussen, and Natasha Arthur. The production team includes John Einar Hagen, Einar Loftesnes, and Vindhya Sagar, with executive producers Sveinung Golimo and Katrine Vogelsang also involved.
The movie is slated for a dual release in theaters and on digital platforms on June 12 through Samuel Goldwyn Films.

This setup appears to promise a gripping creature horror film. The oceanic backdrop alone adds tension and fear, and pairing that with a mythological monster enhances the intrigue. Ultimately, it will hinge on execution, but the atmosphere looks promising. What are your thoughts on Kraken? Is it something you would be interested in watching?
