Recently released behind-the-scenes images from the filming of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms Season 2 have emerged online, providing fans with an exciting glimpse of the production still in progress. This information comes from on-location reports and photos shared by photographer Piotr Drezinski on Instagram.

Filming for Season 2 of the HBO series commenced as early as December 2025, even before the premiere of the first season. The production team is working diligently to minimize the time between seasons. After shooting in Belfast, Ireland, the crew has moved to Spain, where star Peter Claffey has also been sharing updates from the set on social media.

Filming faced a brief interruption in April due to a historic flood that impacted parts of Gran Canaria. The production was temporarily relocated but has since returned to the island and resumed shooting. Reports indicate that the team is currently working in various locations across Gran Canaria.

The latest update comes from Piotr Drezinski, who shared two images from the set. One captures five characters silhouetted against a sunset, with a rider on horseback at the center, believed to be Dunk, although it has not been officially confirmed whether it is Peter Claffey or a stunt performer.

Another image shared by Drezinski features a lone rider descending a hillside during daylight. The photographer suggested this could also be Dunk, but did not confirm the identity of the actor in the shot.

In his caption, Drezinski mentioned that filming was occurring very close to his residence, stating that the production was happening “literally in front of my house.” He noted that the shoot in that specific area seemed to be concluding, indicating that the crew might soon transition to another filming location on the island. He later clarified on Facebook that the scenes were filmed near Juncalillo, with additional work taking place around Artenara.

Reports from Los Siete Reinos indicate that production has also been active at La Fortaleza, a site in Santa Lucía de Tirajana. It remains uncertain how long filming will continue in Gran Canaria, although earlier reports suggested that Season 2 could wrap up around June before the weather disruptions altered schedules.

The new images have quickly circulated among fans of Game of Thrones and its spin-off universe. Many are discussing Dunk’s appearance, particularly his hairstyle. Peter Claffey previously confirmed that his character would sport longer hair in Season 2, aligning with descriptions from the source material.

“It’s a lot of fun this year and I’ve got long hair this time!” Claffey remarked in a prior interview. “So hopefully the book lovers and the book fans will be happy with that fact.”

Claffey also shared insights about the upcoming story adaptation. Season 2 is expected to adapt the novella The Sworn Sword from George R.R. Martin’s Tales of Dunk and Egg series. This narrative follows Dunk and Egg as they journey into the Reach, encountering new characters and challenges along the way. Claffey has previously described it as his favorite installment in the series, noting it to be a more emotional and tragic story compared to the events of the first season.

With filming still in progress, fans can anticipate more set photos and updates as production continues across Spain.
