Tom Francis might soon take on one of Hollywood’s most iconic roles. As reported by Variety, the 26-year-old British actor has auditioned for the role of James Bond in the upcoming film from the legendary franchise.

Francis recently garnered significant attention for his performance alongside Nicole Scherzinger in ‘Sunset Boulevard’. The production became one of Broadway’s most discussed shows, particularly after Francis delivered the title song while strolling through New York’s theater district, with cameras capturing the moment live during the performance.

The Bond casting process is still underway, managed by casting director Nina Gold. Representatives for both Francis and Amazon MGM Studios have not commented on the ongoing speculation.

While Francis is primarily recognized for his theater work, his screen career is beginning to expand. He had a minor role in ‘Jay Kelly’ and is set to appear in ‘The Mosquito Bowl’, directed by Peter Berg, alongside Nicholas Galitzine and Bill Skarsgård. Additionally, he made his television debut in the final season of ‘You’.

Several other actors have been rumored for the Bond role in recent months, including Jacob Elordi from ‘Euphoria’ and ‘Frankenstein’, as well as Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Callum Turner.

Cosmo Jarvis was also mentioned in connection with the search, having recently appeared in ‘Shōgun’ and ‘Warfare’. However, his representative has denied these reports, stating, “Cosmo is not in the mix for the role of James Bond and is not auditioning for it.”

Francis has won an Olivier Award for his role in ‘Sunset Boulevard’ and received a Tony Award nomination. His name is quickly becoming a focal point in the race to become the next James Bond.
