Netflix has unveiled the first trailer for Voicemails for Isabelle, a romantic comedy featuring Zoey Deutch and Nick Robinson. Directed and written by Leah McKendrick, the film is set to debut on Netflix on June 19.

The narrative centers around Jill, portrayed by Deutch, who grapples with the loss of her sister Isabelle. To manage her grief, she continues to call Isabelle’s old phone number, leaving heartfelt voice messages. Unbeknownst to her, the number has been reassigned to Wes, played by Robinson, a real estate agent who gradually becomes invested in the emotional messages he receives.

In the trailer, Wes confides in his friends about the unusual situation, stating, “This random girl has been leaving voicemails on my new work cell. They’re for her sister.” As the story unfolds, the messages grow increasingly poignant, allowing Wes to gain insight into Jill’s sorrow and isolation.

In one touching scene, Jill expresses, “I’m just calling you to ask, ‘How am I supposed to do this without you?’ You’re in a better place – probably slurping face with Heath Ledger as we speak, huh? But I miss you.” The film artfully blends romance, grief, and humor as the bond between the two characters deepens through their unexpected voicemail exchanges.

The film also features a talented cast, including Nick Offerman, Lukas Gage, Harry Shum Jr., Ciara Bravo, Megan Danso, Gil Bellows, Toby Sandeman, and Spencer Lord.

Reports indicate that the film includes music by Este Haim and Amanda Yamate, with producers Todd Black, Jason Blumenthal, Steve Tisch, and Becky Sanderman overseeing the project.

Deutch has recently appeared in films such as Anniversary and Nouvelle Vague, while Robinson has been seen in the Netflix series The Abadons and films like Snack Shack and Damsel.
