First Look at ‘Vought Rising’ Trailer Unveiled at The Boys LA Premiere

A first look at the trailer for ‘Vought Rising’ was revealed during the Los Angeles premiere event for ‘The Boys’, offering fans an exciting glimpse into the next chapter of the franchise. This upcoming series, being developed for Prime Video, is set to serve as a prequel, taking place decades before the events of ‘The Boys’.

Created by Eric Kripke and inspired by the comic books from Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson, the show transports viewers back to the 1950s to delve into the early history of Vought and the emergence of some of the franchise’s most formidable Supes.

The series sees the return of Jensen Ackles as Soldier Boy and Aya Cash as Stormfront, both reprising their roles from ‘The Boys’. New cast members include Elizabeth Posey, Will Hochman, Mason Dye, and KiKi Layne.

According to information shared by the production team, ‘Vought Rising’ revolves around a murder mystery tied to the origins of Vought. The narrative centers on Soldier Boy’s early experiences and Stormfront’s clandestine ambitions as the company begins to evolve into the powerful entity fans recognize from ‘The Boys’.

Discussing the series, Kripke noted that the Supes in this storyline start as military figures before transitioning into commercial celebrities. He emphasized how “military discipline” gradually morphs into “consumerism” and flashy entertainment.

Jensen Ackles also spoke to Variety about his return as Soldier Boy, explaining that this iteration of the character is quite different from what fans are accustomed to. Ackles remarked, “There’s a lot of life that Soldier Boy has lived when we see him in ‘The Boys’… and then when he’s starting.” He added that the new series will allow viewers to witness the challenges that shaped the character over time.

The project was initially announced during San Diego Comic-Con in 2024. Filming commenced in August 2025 and officially concluded in March 2026. The series is anticipated to span multiple seasons, with showrunner Paul Grellong already brainstorming ideas for future episodes.

Several actors from other productions within ‘The Boys’ universe are also expected to make appearances. Reports have confirmed that Ethan Slater will reprise his role as Thomas Godolkin from ‘Gen V’.

‘Vought Rising’ is currently slated to premiere on Prime Video sometime in 2027.
