Zendaya Discusses Exhausting Schedule Filming ‘Euphoria,’ ‘The Odyssey’ and ‘Dune: Part Three’
Zendaya has shared insights into her experience juggling multiple major productions simultaneously, including HBO’s Euphoria, Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey, and Denis Villeneuve’s Dune: Part Three.
In an interview with Elle, she described a challenging period filled with constant transitions between various roles and sets.
The actress expressed that she often felt exhausted while trying to meet the demands of each project. She noted that she would frequently switch between night shoots for Euphoria and preparations for her film roles almost concurrently.
“I remember being on set for Euphoria; it was a night shoot at a ranch,” she recalled. “I was so tired, but I was also learning my Chakobsa lines for Dune. And then I started writing out my lines to memorize for that quick turnaround trip I was going to make to Iceland [for The Odyssey].”
Zendaya also mentioned that even though her role in The Odyssey is not extensive, the pressure felt significant due to the scale of the production and Christopher Nolan’s involvement.
“It’s not like I have a lot of lines in The Odyssey, but I was working with Christopher Nolan! The most embarrassing thing in life would be messing up my lines, which did happen once,” she added.
Her busy schedule includes filming the third season of Euphoria, where she reprises her role as Rue Bennett, alongside significant film roles in some of Hollywood’s most anticipated releases. She is set to portray Athena in The Odyssey, directed by Nolan and inspired by the ancient Greek epic. The film features a large ensemble cast, including Matt Damon, Tom Holland, and Anne Hathaway.
Zendaya will also return as Chani in Dune: Part Three, the concluding chapter of Denis Villeneuve’s science fiction trilogy. The film continues the narrative from Dune: Part Two and is based on Frank Herbert’s novel Dune Messiah. Production has wrapped after filming in various international locations, with a release slated for late 2026.
Alongside her film endeavors, Zendaya continues her work on Euphoria, which remains one of HBO’s most beloved series. The combination of television and multiple blockbuster films has required her to constantly shift between different characters, locations, and production schedules.
In previous promotional appearances, Zendaya mentioned her intention to take a break following this hectic period. She described the year as overwhelming and indicated that she plans to step away from acting for a short time once her current projects are released.
Her recent workload underscores the demanding nature of her schedule as she balances long-standing TV commitments with major Hollywood franchises.
