‘Emily in Paris’ Actor Pierre Deny Passes Away at 69, Fans Mourn

French actor Pierre Deny, best known for his role in Netflix’s Emily in Paris, has sadly passed away at the age of 69. He died on Monday due to complications related to ALS, a fact confirmed by his daughters in a statement released through AFP.

In their heartfelt message, they expressed their sorrow and explained the circumstances of his passing, stating, “It is with deep emotion that we announce the passing of Pierre Deny, which occurred this Monday following a sudden and severe case of ALS.”

Deny appeared in Seasons 3 and 4 of Emily in Paris, portraying Louis de Léon, the CEO of a luxury fashion company and father to Nicolas, played by Paul Forman. His character was integral to a significant family storyline that also involved Mindy, portrayed by Ashley Park.

While many international fans recognize him from Emily in Paris, Deny had a prolific career in French television and film, featuring in over 100 productions throughout his extensive career. His notable credits include popular French series such as Une femme d’honneur, Julie Lescaut, L’Instit, Joséphine, ange gardien, Camping Paradis, and Braquo.

He was also a familiar face in France due to his long-standing roles in soap operas. Deny appeared in hundreds of episodes of Plus belle la vie and Demain nous appartient, solidifying his presence on French television over the years.

News of his passing arrives as Emily in Paris is in production for its upcoming final season, which recently began filming in Greece. Creator Darren Star previously shared his thoughts on the show concluding, stating, “Making ‘Emily in Paris’ with this extraordinary cast and crew has been the trip of a lifetime,” and added, “As we embark on the final season, I am so grateful to Netflix, Paramount, and, most importantly, the fans who have taken this incredible journey with us.”
