The release of Steven Spielberg’s Disclosure Day is fast approaching, and the final trailer has just dropped as part of Universal’s last promotional effort before tickets go on sale. This film is set to be one of the summer’s biggest releases, debuting just before major titles like Toy Story 5, The Odyssey, and Spider-Man: Brand New Day. With excitement building, the studio has shifted its marketing strategy to focus more on mystery and tone rather than revealing too much of the plot.

What makes the new trailer particularly engaging is that it is more than just a montage of film clips. It combines brief scenes from the movie with behind-the-scenes footage. Spielberg himself features prominently, sharing insights on how his perspective on alien life has evolved since his earlier work on Close Encounters of the Third Kind. His reflections lend a personal touch to the preview, setting it apart from typical blockbuster trailers.

The narrative centers around the potential for alien contact and the varied responses from governments, corporations, and individuals. Emily Blunt stars as Margaret Fairchild, a Kansas City meteorologist and former journalist who becomes embroiled in a growing global enigma. Josh O’Connor portrays Daniel Kellner, a young cybersecurity expert who plays a crucial role as a whistleblower. The cast also includes Colin Firth as a powerful corporate figure, Eve Hewson as Daniel’s partner, and Colman Domingo as a defector advocating for the truth.

According to production details revealed during development, the project began taking shape in 2024 when Spielberg conceived an original UFO story. Screenwriter David Koepp worked through several drafts before finalizing the script. Casting soon followed, with Emily Blunt confirmed as the lead, and the rest of the ensemble added over the following months.

Filming occurred in early 2025 across various locations in New York, New Jersey, and Atlanta under the working title Non-View. Production wrapped up later that spring, with Spielberg and his team quickly transitioning into post-production. John Williams, a long-time collaborator of Spielberg, was later announced as the composer for the score, continuing their decades-long partnership.

The final trailer also confirms that tickets for Disclosure Day are now on sale. Universal is promoting the film as a significant IMAX release, emphasizing its grand scale and cinematic experience. While the marketing has kept key plot points under wraps, the tone hints at a blend of science fiction spectacle and grounded human drama.

Disclosure Day is set to hit U.S. theaters on June 12.
