Paul Rudd Auctions ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ Premiere Tickets for Charity
The buzz surrounding Avengers: Doomsday continues to grow as Marvel’s highly anticipated team-up film approaches its release date, with each update generating significant online interest.
At the recent Big Slick Kansas City charity event, actor Paul Rudd transformed that excitement into a remarkable fundraising opportunity by auctioning off two tickets to the film’s world premiere.
The auction was part of the Big Slick Kansas City event, a longstanding charity initiative that supports Children’s Mercy Kansas City. The winning bid reached an impressive $100,000, with all proceeds benefiting the hospital. This year marked the 17th edition of the event, which is known for attracting Kansas City celebrities, including Paul Rudd, Jason Sudeikis, Rob Riggle, Eric Stonestreet, and Heidi Gardner.
During the live auction, Rudd humorously described the experience tied to the upcoming Marvel film. He invited the winning bidder to join him at the Avengers: Doomsday world premiere in Los Angeles, which would include access to the after-party and opportunities to meet the cast and crew.
“I did this little independent film. Its title: Avengers: Doomsday. It’s going to come out just before Christmas, and I don’t know, I think it would be really cool if two people came with me to Los Angeles, right before the holiday season really kicks in, to go to the premiere with me,” Rudd shared during the event.
He elaborated on the unique experience, emphasizing that the winners would partake in an extraordinary Hollywood night. “This will include the after-party, too. I will introduce you to every single person I see. We will try to take selfies as much as possible. Some of them I know. Some of them will speak to me. So we can even wrangle a pre-Christmas card maybe,” he added.
According to the auction results announced at the event, the final bid of $100,000 will directly support Children’s Mercy Hospital. This moment quickly became one of the highlights of the night, merging Marvel excitement with a significant charitable cause.
In addition to the fundraising success, Rudd’s profile is rising due to his return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Scott Lang, also known as Ant-Man. Rudd first joined the Marvel franchise in 2015 with Ant-Man and has since appeared in Captain America: Civil War, Avengers: Endgame, and Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. His character has become a key member of the franchise’s core group of heroes.
With Avengers: Doomsday set to propel the next phase of Marvel storytelling, Rudd’s contributions both on-screen and off-screen are keeping fans engaged. The charity auction added an additional layer of attention to the film, illustrating how major blockbuster releases increasingly connect with real-world events that unite fans and celebrities for a worthy cause.
