David Harbour Shares His Thoughts After Seeing 6 Minutes of ‘Avengers: Doomsday’
David Harbour has offered a brief yet enthusiastic reaction to ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ after catching a glimpse of a small segment of the film.
In a recent interview, he mentioned that his work on the movie is ongoing, with active filming taking place at Pinewood Studios in London. He even noted that he was called back for additional shooting shortly after a late-night session, highlighting the busy nature of the production.
Discussing the scale of the project, Harbour described it as one of the largest productions he has ever participated in. He pointed out the numerous moving parts and the extensive cast involved, indicating that the sheer size of the film complicates the management of its production.
Harbour revealed that he recently viewed a few minutes of the film during an ADR session, where actors record extra dialogue in post-production. His response was overwhelmingly positive, stating that the footage left a significant impression on him and instilled confidence in the direction the directors are taking.
He expressed, “I watched just several scenes in ADR, and I was silenced in any of my critique by going, ‘Wow, these Russo brothers really understand the secret sauce of these films [and] what they do.’” He elaborated that the narrative feels like a grand myth being constructed across various characters and emotional journeys.
Continuing to describe the film’s story, he stated, “It’s a mythology. It’s a broad emotional mythology that is just vivid and vast in a way.”
Harbour also shared that despite having seen only a small portion, his early reaction was strong. He remarked, “I’ve seen like maybe six minutes of it, and it is as good as anything I’ve seen, so I’m very impressed with it.” His comments suggest that even these brief glimpses of the film appear polished and impactful.
Directed by Joe Russo and Anthony Russo, who have previously helmed some of the most significant films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ marks a pivotal moment for the franchise as it embarks on a new direction.
The film is set to unite a vast array of returning and new characters from the Marvel universe. While full plot details remain under wraps, the cast features major names from earlier Marvel films and other superhero franchises, making it one of the most ambitious crossover projects in the series.
Harbour’s reaction contributes to the growing excitement surrounding the film. Other cast members have also indicated that the production scale is unusually large, with many describing it as one of the most complex Marvel films to date.
Currently, most story details remain undisclosed, with Marvel Studios maintaining tight control over information. However, comments like Harbour’s continue to generate interest and speculation among fans.
‘Avengers: Doomsday’ is slated for theatrical release on December 18.
