David Corenswet’s Superman Costume Revealed in New ‘Man of Tomorrow’ Set Photos
Exciting new set images of David Corenswet in his full Superman costume from ‘Man of Tomorrow’ have provided fans with their first glimpse of the next chapter in the DC Universe.
These photos, sourced from ongoing production reports and set coverage, showcase Corenswet as Clark Kent while he films scenes for the upcoming sequel to ‘Superman’ (2025).
This film is a key part of the new DC Universe being crafted by writer and director James Gunn. It continues the narrative established in ‘Superman’ and escalates the character’s involvement in a broader conflict. According to DC Studios, ‘Man of Tomorrow’ will not solely focus on Superman; it will also reintroduce Lex Luthor, portrayed by Nicholas Hoult, as both characters navigate an uneasy alliance.
The primary antagonist in the film is Brainiac, a formidable villain from DC Comics known for his exceptional intelligence and destructive capabilities. The cast also features Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen, Isabela Merced, Frank Grillo, María Gabriela de Faría, Sara Sampaio, and Milly Alcock, who reprises her role as Supergirl. Lars Eidinger is set to portray Brainiac, while Aaron Pierre has a role that remains undisclosed.
James Gunn is at the helm as both writer and director, with production managed by DC Studios in collaboration with Peter Safran. This movie serves as a direct sequel to ‘Superman’, expanding on the world and characters introduced in that film. Gunn previously mentioned that development for the sequel commenced even before the release of ‘Superman’ in 2025, indicating the rapid growth of the new DC Universe.
Filming is currently in full swing, having started on April 20, primarily at Trilith Studios in Georgia. Additional locations include the United Kingdom and Cincinnati, Ohio, with some scenes being filmed at Terminal Station in Macon, Georgia, which is doubling as the Daily Planet.
The production has also welcomed new cast members during filming. Matthew Lillard and Sinqua Walls joined the project in early May, although their roles have yet to be disclosed. Milly Alcock’s return as Supergirl was confirmed around the same time, further enriching the DCU character roster.

Cinematography for the film is being led by Sam McCurdy, who has previously collaborated with James Gunn on ‘Peacemaker’. This marks Gunn’s continued trend of working with familiar faces across various DC projects. The production schedule is anticipated to extend throughout most of 2026, with several months of filming still ahead.
As per updates from DC Studios and industry sources, ‘Man of Tomorrow’ is slated for theatrical release on July 9, 2027, through Warner Bros. Pictures. It will kick off Chapter One: Gods and Monsters, the inaugural phase of the new DC Universe.
With filming ongoing and new set images emerging, this film is poised to be a significant addition to the rebooted franchise. The return of Corenswet as Superman, alongside Hoult’s Lex Luthor and the introduction of Brainiac, indicates a substantial expansion of the story universe as the DCU continues to evolve.
