Cinema collectibles have evolved into a significant cultural phenomenon, and the ‘Masters of the Universe’ Castle Grayskull popcorn bucket could be the most ambitious collectible yet.

The complete concession lineup was officially revealed at CinemaCon in Las Vegas ahead of the film’s theatrical debut, with the Castle Grayskull bucket taking center stage in Cinemark’s ‘Masters of the Universe’ collectible series.

Retailing for $44.95, the Castle Grayskull Popcorn Bucket Combo holds 92 ounces of popcorn, features a detachable 25-ounce drink tumbler that fits into one of the towers, and includes a separate 8-ounce candy compartment, making it a versatile three-in-one concession item.

The bucket is a detailed sculpt of the iconic skull-faced fortress, rendered in the classic grey and brown color scheme, complete with battlements, towers, and the Grayskull skull face prominently displayed in three-dimensional detail. This collectible is designed to look great on a shelf long after the popcorn is gone, which is why fan excitement has been so high since its online debut.

Regal Cinemas has also announced its own version of the Castle Grayskull container as part of a six-item exclusive lineup, which includes a Regal-exclusive light-up Skeletor LED Throne diorama, a Skeletor skull cup, and even a themed Grey Goose cocktail for attendees of legal drinking age. The extensive merchandise offerings from both chains highlight how seriously exhibitors are treating this release as a true theatrical event.

Directed by Travis Knight, ‘Masters of the Universe’ follows Prince Adam, portrayed by Nicholas Galitzine, as he returns to his home planet of Eternia after 15 years, only to discover it in ruins under Skeletor’s rule, played by Jared Leto. He must team up with Teela, played by Camila Mendes, and Man-At-Arms, portrayed by Idris Elba, to embrace his destiny as He-Man.

The film is produced by Mattel Studios and Escape Artists, distributed by Amazon MGM Studios in the U.S. and Sony Pictures Releasing International overseas, with a reported budget ranging from $170 to $200 million. The journey to bring it to screens spanned nearly two decades, involving multiple studios like Warner Bros., Columbia Pictures, and Netflix, with directors John Woo and Jon M. Chu both stepping away before Travis Knight finally completed the project.

With the film now in theaters, the Castle Grayskull bucket has emerged as a symbol of the entire venture, representing a type of merchandise that fans who grew up chanting “By the power of Grayskull” could never have imagined holding in their hands at a multiplex.
