Starring Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser as the beloved characters Beth and Rip, the series quickly garnered attention and acclaim after its debut. The strong viewership numbers indicated that fans are eager for more tales from the Dutton family universe.
According to Paramount+, ‘Dutton Ranch’ attracted an impressive 12.9 million viewers globally within the first week of its premiere, marking it as the biggest original series launch ever on Paramount+.
The show also made a significant impact on cable. During its two-episode debut on Paramount Network on May 15, it reached 2.9 million total viewers, making it the largest cable series premiere since 2023.
The premiere episode alone drew in 1.85 million viewers, ranking as the top cable entertainment broadcast among adults aged 18-49 and overall viewers. This success demonstrated the series’ ability to engage both long-time fans of the franchise and newcomers alike.
The positive momentum continued on streaming platforms. Nielsen’s preliminary data identified ‘Dutton Ranch’ as the leading streaming series based on average audience numbers during the week of May 11.
The series also made a notable online impact. Paramount+ revealed that the show amassed 99 million video views and over 2 million engagements across social media platforms within its first three days, making it the biggest premiere on the company’s social channels.

Following the renewal announcement, Paramount+ executives expressed their enthusiasm for bringing Beth and Rip back to screens. “Beth and Rip are among the most iconic duos in television history, and we are thrilled to bring a whole new world to life with Dutton Ranch for our subscribers around the world,” stated Jane Wiseman, Head of Originals for Paramount+. She also commended the teams at Paramount Television Studios and 101 Studios for crafting a series filled with “grit, heart, and authenticity.”
Matt Thunell, President of Paramount Television Studios, celebrated the series’ early success and discussed its connection with viewers. “Dutton Ranch has resonated with audiences in a powerful way, building on the legacy of beloved characters while establishing its own identity,” said Thunell.
The renewal means fans can look forward to more adventures with Beth and Rip as the narrative unfolds beyond the first season. While specific details about the second season’s plot remain undisclosed, the enthusiastic response to the debut indicates that Paramount+ views the series as a vital part of its future offerings.
The show’s success underscores the ongoing popularity of the broader Dutton universe. By focusing on familiar characters while crafting a new storyline, ‘Dutton Ranch’ has successfully carved out its own identity while maintaining the essence of the franchise.
