Amanda Batula is officially departing from ‘Summer House’ following the turmoil surrounding her controversial romance with former cast member West Wilson, as reported by Variety.

The reality star, who has been a fixture on the Bravo series since its inception, will not be returning for Season 11. Her exit follows months of tension stemming from her relationship with Wilson, which took many of her longtime friends on the show, including Ciara Miller and her estranged husband Kyle Cooke, by surprise.

Batula’s romance with Wilson became one of the most talked-about storylines of Season 10. The couple confirmed their relationship in March, but the announcement quickly sparked backlash among fans and created significant issues within the ‘Summer House’ group.

The situation intensified during the Season 10 reunion, where Batula and Wilson faced scrutiny regarding their relationship. Many viewers felt they did not adequately explain how their romance began, prompting Bravo to add an extra episode titled ‘Summer House: The Aftermath’ to address the lingering questions.

Bravo executive Noah Samton explained to Variety why returning to the show was challenging. He noted that the cast dynamic on ‘Summer House’ differs from other reality shows because the stars actually live together.

“’Summer House’ is unique in the Bravoverse. If you have two Housewives who hate each other, and can’t get along, they can shoot a scene, and at the end of the day go home to their own house. On ‘Summer House,’ they actually live together. So if people have a real issue with each other, you can’t live together in a house. And we wouldn’t do that to the cast,” Samton stated.

Unlike other Bravo shows, where cast members can separate after filming, ‘Summer House’ requires everyone to share the same vacation home. Due to the conflict between Batula and other cast members, bringing her back was reportedly not feasible.

Season 11 is anticipated to feature much of the current cast. Kyle Cooke, Ciara Miller, Carl Radke, and Lindsay Hubbard are among those expected to return. West Wilson will also not be back after his relationship with Batula became one of the most controversial moments in the show’s recent history.

Batula’s departure marks a significant change for the series. She joined ‘Summer House’ in 2016 and became one of its most recognizable personalities. Her relationship with Cooke was a central storyline for years, with viewers witnessing their engagement, wedding, and eventual split.

Following her divorce from Cooke, many fans anticipated Batula would have a fresh start and potentially become a key figure on the show. Instead, her decision to date Wilson altered the trajectory of her storyline and left her future with Bravo uncertain.

There are still questions about whether Batula could appear in another Bravo project, including ‘In the City,’ a potential spinoff featuring Cooke and Hubbard. However, Samton indicated that any future reality show involving Batula would depend on whether she still fits within the friend group.

“I do think if you’re doing a show about a friend group, they do still need to be friends to an extent. So if there’s a world in which Amanda made sense with that cast — sure, that’s a possibility,” he remarked.

For now, Batula’s journey on ‘Summer House’ appears to be concluding, ending after a season filled with relationship drama, friendship conflicts, and one of the biggest controversies the show has ever seen.
