New Leaks from ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ Showcase Yelena Belova and Cyclops
Marvel Studios has been grappling with leaks all summer, and the buzz surrounding ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ shows no signs of slowing down.
The latest leak features grainy, green-tinted images sourced from merchandise that seemingly depict the film’s extensive ensemble cast gearing up for battle. Among the characters featured in these images are Florence Pugh’s Yelena Belova and James Marsden’s Cyclops, both captured in action-ready stances that fans hadn’t seen clearly before.
The authenticity of these leaks has sparked considerable debate since their emergence, and this discussion has intensified as clearer versions have surfaced.
Many skeptics have been swayed by Disney’s actions, as the studio has reportedly been issuing copyright takedown notices against accounts sharing the footage, a move that typically indicates genuine leaked content rather than fan-made fakes.
Further supporting the leak’s credibility, a separate set of higher-quality photos has emerged, with at least one image reportedly matching background details from set photos taken during filming. However, the footage clearly displays unfinished visual effects, reminding viewers that what they see is a work in progress rather than the polished final cut that will hit theaters.
This isn’t the first major leak to affect ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ during its marketing campaign. Full trailers for ‘Spider-Man, Brand New Day’ leaked twice before the film’s release, with only minor edits between versions, indicating that Marvel has struggled to control unauthorized footage across multiple projects this year, rather than this being an isolated case.
Aside from the leak controversy, ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ is shaping up to be one of the largest ensemble films Marvel has ever attempted, uniting heroes from three different timelines to confront Robert Downey Jr.’s Victor Von Doom. Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans, Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, Letitia Wright, and Vanessa Kirby join a lineup that also sees the return of Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, and Rebecca Romijn from the earlier X-Men film series.
The Russo Brothers are back to direct after their work on ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ and ‘Avengers: Endgame,’ with the film currently slated for a December 18 release. Its sequel, ‘Avengers: Secret Wars,’ is scheduled to follow about a year later on December 17, 2027.
With an official trailer still absent outside of that single CinemaCon screening, these unauthorized glimpses may be the clearest look fans get at several of these characters for months. Whether Marvel will finally unveil the real trailer soon or continue to let leaks handle the marketing remains to be seen.
