Marvel’s press tours have recently become a go-to source for celebrity life updates, with actors often sharing personal news amid discussions about their latest films. The promotional campaign for ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ has been no exception.

Jacob Batalon, who portrays Ned Leeds in the franchise, has been actively participating in press events alongside co-stars Tom Holland and Zendaya. During these appearances, observant fans began to notice something unrelated to the film.

That something was a wedding. Jacob Batalon has secretly tied the knot with his longtime partner, interior designer Veronica Leahov, with PEOPLE confirming the news after months of subtle hints from the couple.

The confirmation came after a joint interview with Heart, released on July 28, where Batalon, Holland, and Zendaya talked about the nicknames they use for one another. Batalon humorously mentioned, as reported by E! News, “My wife calls me big dog. She doesn’t. I wish she did,” casually dropping the term “wife” for the first time. He was also seen wearing a ring on his left hand during the interview, having sported various gold bands on that finger in recent weeks, including at the Los Angeles premiere of ‘Brand New Day’ on July 27.

Leahov appeared to confirm the marriage from her side as well, updating her professional bio to read “Veronica Leahov Batalon.” With Batalon’s slip during the interview and Leahov’s name change, fans and media quickly pieced together the story throughout July.

The wedding marks the culmination of a relationship that began in 2019, with the couple announcing their engagement in March 2025 after Batalon proposed in New York City. He described the proposal as a romantic setup with a heart-shaped floral arrangement and candles by the river, later sharing with Entertainment Tonight that Leahov dreamed of a wedding in Italy’s Lake Como.

Batalon has been open about letting Leahov handle most of the wedding planning. In a conversation with PEOPLE following their engagement, he admitted, “I have not planned anything at all… my fiancée, she’s really good at it. I genuinely just was like, ‘Tell me when and where and I’ll make it.'” He humorously mentioned on SiriusXM that he told Leahov to take charge since he wasn’t “good with planning,” although he did learn about different flower varieties along the way.

Details about the ceremony, including the exact date and location, have not been publicly disclosed. Neither Batalon nor Leahov has made an official statement beyond their comments in the interview and social media updates that hinted at the marriage.

The timing of the engagement has become a light-hearted topic between Batalon and his co-stars. He has previously teased Holland and Zendaya for getting engaged shortly after his own proposal, insisting that his plans were already in motion before he learned of their news and that the timing was merely coincidental.

Leahov, who runs VEROH, a luxury home and bedding brand, holds a master’s degree from the Fashion Institute of Technology. She celebrated the milestone with a heartfelt social media post, expressing that she never imagined her heart could “hold so much love” and describing it as the “purest happiness” she has ever experienced.

Batalon’s marriage announcement comes just weeks after his ‘Brand New Day’ co-star Tom Holland confirmed his own marriage to Zendaya, marking the second significant relationship milestone to emerge from the film’s press tour. With three of the film’s main stars now revealing they’ve quietly tied the knot around the same time, the ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ rollout has become as much a celebration of real-life love stories as it is a promotional campaign for the blockbuster film.
