Success can dramatically alter careers, and few actors have seen a transformation quite like Noah Wyle in the past two years. The ‘ER’ alum, who had taken a decade-long break from medical dramas, is now at the forefront of television’s most talked-about hospital series, HBO Max’s ‘The Pitt.’

This show has become a true sensation, earning Wyle his first Emmy win last year for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series, along with a shared Best Drama Series victory as an executive producer. With ‘The Pitt’ leading all shows into the 2026 Emmys with 25 total nominations, including two additional nods for Wyle himself, the actor’s career is at an all-time high.

In the midst of this success, Wyle is making a significant career shift behind the scenes. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the actor and executive producer has parted ways with Verve, the talent agency that represented him for over two years. Sources describe the split as amicable, noting that Wyle has no immediate plans to sign with another agency.

Wyle initially joined Verve in early 2024, coinciding with HBO Max’s order for ‘The Pitt’ to be developed into a series. This means the agency has been with him throughout the show’s rise to prominence. In a statement, Verve expressed pride in their shared achievements and wished Wyle continued success in his future endeavors.

Part of the reason for Wyle’s departure seems to be his expanding role behind the camera. He recently signed an overall deal with Warner Bros. Television, the studio behind ‘The Pitt,’ where he will develop and produce new series projects. Sources indicate that this shift in focus played a role in his decision to leave Verve.

This isn’t Wyle’s first foray into producing; he has served as an executive producer on both ‘The Librarians’ and its spinoff ‘The Librarians: The Next Chapter,’ as well as on ‘Falling Skies’ earlier in his career. Despite leaving Verve, Wyle will continue to be represented by Brillstein Entertainment Partners and Jackoway Austen, ensuring he remains connected to representation.

This move also coincides with a tumultuous period for Verve, which has reportedly faced internal conflicts among partners, resulting in notable client and staff departures, including the exit of longtime television literary department head Felicia Prinz, who left for Range Media Partners earlier this year.

For Wyle, the timing of this split aligns perfectly with a career high point rather than indicating any turbulence in his trajectory. With ‘The Pitt’ continuing to lead awards conversations and Wyle now positioned to develop his own projects through Warner Bros., this agency change appears to reflect a shift in priorities rather than a step back.

Whether Wyle will eventually sign with a new agency or continue to operate independently remains uncertain, but for now, his focus seems to be on expanding his producing career while ‘The Pitt’ continues its awards season journey.
