‘The Apartment Job‘ has emerged as one of the unexpected hits of the JTBC weekend lineup, skillfully combining crime-comedy elements with a surprisingly emotional core. Featuring Ji Sung as a former gang leader who infiltrates a newly constructed apartment complex, the series is building toward a finale that aims to resolve both its central heist and the deeper family drama driving the narrative, all while maintaining its signature mix of humor and suspense.

Since its premiere on July 11, the show has followed a consistent release schedule on Saturdays and Sundays on JTBC, with episodes also available for streaming on Netflix for international viewers on the same day they air in Korea. This format has allowed the series to deliver a total of 12 episodes, providing fans with two new installments almost every week.

The finale, episode 12, is set to air on Sunday, August 16, at 22:30 KST on JTBC. Episode 11 will air the day prior, on Saturday, August 15, at 22:40 KST, presenting viewers with a final two-episode block to tie up loose ends before the season concludes.

For international audiences watching on Netflix, the streaming release has closely mirrored the domestic broadcast, with earlier episodes typically available around 3 p.m. GMT or 11 a.m. ET on their release day. Subtitles have consistently been added quickly alongside each episode, keeping international viewers nearly in sync with their Korean counterparts throughout the series.

As the season progresses, the stakes have escalated significantly leading into the finale. Episode 10 directly addressed the aftermath of Park Yong-man’s death, alongside a dramatic confession from penthouse resident and construction company CEO Lee Chung-won, whose ambitions regarding the apartment complex’s reserve fund have fueled much of the season’s tension.

This confrontation left Park Hae-gang, portrayed by Ji Sung, grappling with grief and anger while he continues to build his case against the larger network tied to Chung-won. With the unresolved issues surrounding the missing reserve fund and the apartment complex’s construction defects, the show has much to resolve in its final two episodes, especially given the tight plotting of the latter half of the season.

Ji Sung leads the cast as Park Hae-gang, the head of HK Trading and Investment, a front for an illegal gambling operation he runs with the help of three former gang lieutenants. His unlikely partnership with Kang Ha-ri, an aspiring lawyer played by Ha Yoon-kyung who works part-time at a prestigious law firm’s free consultation counter, has anchored much of the show’s emotional depth, while Moon So-ri’s Jang Sook-jin rounds out the ensemble as the apartment complex’s vigilant resident busybody.

The series has consistently performed well in the ratings, with episode 10 achieving an average nationwide audience rating of 6.147 percent according to Nielsen Korea, marking the show’s highest point to date as it heads into its final stretch. Each episode runs for approximately 70 minutes, aligning with typical pacing for JTBC dramas throughout the season.

With the finale just days away, ‘The Apartment Job’ is poised to conclude its run on a high note, wrapping up both its central con and the emotional fallout stemming from Yong-man’s death. With its ratings success and its blend of crime, comedy, and genuine heart, the drama has quietly established itself as one of the standout Korean series of the summer.
