‘The Westies’ Episode 7 Recap and Ending Explained: Tensions Rise Between Jimmy and Eamon
‘The Westies‘ has spent seven episodes gradually unraveling the delicate loyalties within its central crime family, and the penultimate chapter allows that tension to erupt fully. Set against the backdrop of the real Irish American gang that once dominated Hell’s Kitchen, this episode delivers its most impactful narrative yet, centered around a disastrous drug deal and its violent consequences.
Episode 7, titled “A Boy Made of Trouble,” begins with an undercover FBI officer apprehending Sean, one of Jimmy’s associates, after he’s caught showcasing eight ounces of cocaine inside a strip club. With the drugs seized and Sean arrested, the gang finds itself in a precarious situation as their covert drug arrangement with John Gotti threatens to collapse.
This arrest compels Jimmy to confess to Eamon about his secret dealings with Gotti. Eamon, furious yet composed, demands the partnership end immediately and enlists lawyer Victor Paulson to assist Sean with his legal troubles. At the precinct, Glenn and Polk attempt to persuade Sean to turn on the gang, but he remains tight-lipped, requesting his attorney instead, facing a potential 25-year sentence with a plea deal offering closer to 10 years for good behavior.
As this crisis unfolds, Mickey moves in with Erin, mistakenly believing she has left sex work behind. When another client arrives, Mickey reacts by knocking him out, leading to Erin’s anger over his assumptions. In response, Mickey proposes marriage. Meanwhile, Bridget discovers that Brendan has been released from prison after serving only three months of a ten-year sentence, raising suspicions about his potential role as an informant. Nevertheless, she continues with her plan to eliminate Colonel Markham, opting for a discreet honey-trap strategy at his hotel to avoid collateral damage.

Back at Eamon’s residence, Jimmy lashes out at both Eamon and Eddie, insisting that Sean will remain silent. This visible fracture in the gang’s unity is precisely what Glenn has been anticipating. He persuades Polk to send federal agents to visit Gotti under a false pretense, using the opportunity to secretly install a wiretap, then confronts Jimmy, warning him that Eamon might have Sean killed in prison and reminding him of Eamon’s involvement in Pat Murphy’s earlier death.
The following morning, Eamon meets with Gotti, who expresses doubt about Sean’s ability to keep quiet, fearing the repercussions if the drug deal is exposed. Realizing he may have no choice but to eliminate Sean, Eamon inadvertently validates Glenn’s warning. The wiretap captures Gotti and Eamon discussing the murder plot in real time, providing the feds with undeniable audio evidence.
Eddie executes the order, luring Sean away from the gang with deceit before Eamon’s men shoot him and dispose of his body. Once Glenn obtains the wiretap audio confirming the events, he presents it to Jimmy, finally turning him against the man who raised him. Jimmy confronts Eamon, calling him a coward, while Eamon admits with regret that he had hoped to groom Jimmy as his successor. Holding Eamon at gunpoint, Jimmy ultimately walks away, marking a definitive break in their relationship as they head into next week’s finale.
With the bond between Jimmy and Eamon shattered, Bridget’s mission against Markham still unresolved, and Glenn proving effective as an investigator after weeks of distractions, ‘The Westies’ has set the stage for a truly explosive final episode.
