Kaia Gerber has been making strides in her acting career, stepping out from her mother’s supermodel legacy with roles in projects like ‘Palm Royale’ and Ryan Murphy’s ‘American Horror Story.’ Her latest venture is in ‘The Shards,’ Murphy’s new FX series, where she stars alongside Homer Gere, the son of Richard Gere and Cindy Crawford’s ex-husband, creating a unique real-life connection within the cast.

While this family tie has garnered attention, Gerber’s most shocking revelation this week was unrelated to her co-star. During her appearance on “The Mitch Churi Chat Show,” released Friday, she shared an unusual story from her childhood that she had never discussed publicly before.

Gerber disclosed that her mother, Cindy Crawford, once had an exorcism performed on her as a child after being told she was possessed. In the interview, she mentioned that Crawford gave her holy water before she began filming ‘American Horror Story’ Season 10 in 2021, saying, “I don’t want you to get possessed,” and adding that she “was told I was possessed as a child.”

When asked if she had indeed undergone an exorcism, Gerber confirmed it, describing the unconventional method used. “Do you know how they did the exorcism? They played a didgeridoo all over me,” she explained, referring to the wind instrument traditionally associated with Indigenous Australian cultures. “That actually did happen. I’ve never talked about it, but it actually did happen.” This revelation provided a rare glimpse into a private aspect of her upbringing that had not been previously shared.

Gerber didn’t stop at the exorcism. She expressed feeling “haunted” throughout her life and humorously noted that she seems to “attract beings from other dimensions in a very casual and chill way,” indicating that the childhood incident was not an isolated event but part of a larger pattern she has experienced over the years.

This revelation coincides with Gerber’s promotional efforts for ‘The Shards,’ where she plays a character alongside Homer Gere’s fictionalized version of Bret Easton Ellis. In a separate interview with Vogue earlier this month, Gerber reflected on their first meeting, mentioning that their parents’ past marriage came up almost immediately as they began working together.

Gerber has previously discussed the experience of growing up as the daughter of one of the world’s most famous supermodels. She told Vogue that she was born into fame, meaning she never experienced the journey to stardom like many others, unlike some of her co-stars who grew up away from the public eye.

This contrast has influenced how she shares her upbringing, including unusual stories like the exorcism that she has kept private until now. With ‘The Shards’ continuing to attract attention for its dark themes and unexpected family connections among the cast, Gerber’s latest revelation adds another layer of intrigue to her ongoing press tour as the show continues its rollout.
