‘Avengers: Doomsday‘ has been generating excitement for months, not only through trailers and cast announcements but also via a steady stream of merchandise that provides fans with clues hidden in the smallest details. From action figures to collectibles from various companies, the film’s marketing strategy has transformed toy aisles into unexpected sources of plot speculation.

This trend is particularly evident with Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom, whose throne room presentation has become one of the most analyzed visual elements connected to the film. Since Marvel Studios unveiled Doom’s official poster in late July, fans have been dissecting every accessory and background detail for insights into his role in the narrative.

Iron Studios’ latest reveal has only heightened that speculation. ComicBook.com shared a fresh look at the company’s Doctor Doom on Throne statue, highlighting a particularly enigmatic detail: an ornate green book that Doom is holding, prominently displayed alongside his imposing seated figure.

The 1:10 scale Art Scale statue features Victor von Doom seated on an intricately designed throne adorned with mystical symbols that fans have affectionately dubbed “Doom runes,” emphasizing the character’s sorcerer-like portrayal in this version. The figure includes three interchangeable arm options, one of which shows Doom gripping a mysterious key, while another depicts him holding the glowing green tome that is now sparking new theories online.

This isn’t the first collectible related to Doom to ignite fan speculation this summer. Iron Studios previously showcased a separate Doctor Doom Throne Deluxe figure, depicting Doom seated with one hand raised amid the same rune-covered throne design, which first drew attention to the character’s regal presentation within the film.

Doom’s merchandise line has rapidly expanded across various companies and price points since San Diego Comic-Con. Bandai has launched its own S.H.Figuarts version featuring interchangeable crossed-arm parts, retailing for $100, while Iron Studios has introduced a larger 1:4 scale figure priced at $1,299.99, expected to ship in spring 2027. Mattel has even rolled out a 12-inch plush version aimed at younger fans and casual collectors.

The level of focused attention indicates just how integral Doom has become to Marvel’s marketing strategy as the December release approaches. Few villains in the franchise’s history have received this much merchandise attention before their film has even premiered, and the throne imagery continues to appear across nearly every version released so far.

Much of the ongoing intrigue ties back to a recurring accessory seen across nearly all of Doom’s official merchandise: a distinctive yellow armband, visible on both the Legacy Replica and MiniCo figures released alongside the throne statues. Combined with the mysterious book and key options included in this latest Iron Studios release, fans have ample new material to theorize about as the film’s plot reveal approaches.

The Doctor Doom on Throne statue is currently available for pre-order through Iron Studios’ online store for $249.99, with an expected release window in the third quarter of 2026. Crafted in polystone with a hand-painted finish, the piece measures approximately 8.8 inches tall and features a richly detailed base designed to evoke the character’s throne room within the film.

With ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ set to premiere on December 18, merchandise like this continues to provide one of the few concrete glimpses into how Doom will be portrayed on screen. Whether the book and key hint at something significant to his character arc or merely enhance his royal presentation remains to be seen until the film’s release.
