‘Diarra From Detroit’ Season 2, Episode 6 Release Date and Air Time

Detroit’s beloved amateur sleuth is nearing the finish line, and fans are eagerly anticipating the next chapter of her chaotic summer. ‘Diarra From Detroit’ has captivated audiences since its return to Paramount+, seamlessly blending true-crime thrills with laugh-out-loud comedy in a unique way.

Created by and starring Diarra Kilpatrick, the series follows Diarra Brickland as she attempts to enjoy a peaceful summer in her hometown. What begins as a simple furniture recovery mission quickly escalates into a triple homicide investigation, a citywide treasure hunt, and a deep dive into Detroit’s criminal underbelly.

As the season races toward its climax, episode 6 is poised to unveil the next piece of the puzzle. ‘Diarra From Detroit’ returns for Season 2 on Wednesday, July 29, launching with two episodes before transitioning to a weekly release schedule through September 9.

Based on this weekly pattern, episode 6 is slated to premiere on Wednesday, August 26, 2026. New episodes have consistently been available on Paramount+ at 12:00 PM GMT, which translates to approximately 8 a.m. ET and 5 a.m. PT for U.S. viewers.

The latter half of Season 2 has raised the stakes for Diarra and her team. Diarra discovers a witness to the Coney murders who will only exchange his testimony for a mythical hidden treasure, leading the crew into one of the city’s most perilous neighborhoods, where she faces off against a notorious villain.

This treasure-hunt storyline has become the backbone of the season, drawing Diarra deeper into the city’s underworld with each episode. What starts as a missing antique case balloons into a triple homicide involving rival street gangs, necessitating a citywide treasure hunt.

Complicating matters is Diarra’s personal life, which is just as tangled as her investigations. Her biological clock is ticking as her doubts about boyfriend Chris intensify, compounded by the return of a matured ex-boyfriend eager to start a family, played by Cliff “Method Man” Smith, alongside her lingering feelings for childhood friend Danger, portrayed by Jon Chaffin, who is secretly alive and well upstate.

Critics have lauded the show for its ability to balance mystery with genuine heart and humor. Season two shifts focus from Diarra’s career as a schoolteacher to her emergence as a private investigator, sharing considerable similarities with ‘Nancy Drew,’ complete with a quest for an antique desk, secret societies, and shifting alliances.

The series also serves as a love letter to its setting. Each episode features a wealth of facts about Detroit’s history, including its role in the Underground Railroad, Prohibition, and its Motown heyday.

This blend of local flavor and intricate plotting has sustained the show’s momentum since its premiere. Since the first season launched on March 21, 2024, the series has resonated with both audiences and critics, becoming the number one new cable series among Black viewers to date, boasting a perfect Rotten Tomatoes score of 100%.

‘Diarra From Detroit’ made a significant platform transition for its second season. With the BET+ app now discontinued, Kilpatrick’s mystery-comedy is exclusively available on Paramount+.

This consolidation means that every episode, both old and new, is now accessible in one location for subscribers. All eight episodes from the debut season are currently streaming on Paramount+, alongside the new season, as BET+ titles have been integrated into the platform.

With only three episodes remaining after episode 6, including the finale on September 9, Diarra’s treasure hunt and tumultuous love life are both racing toward a resolution. Season 2 delves into Diarra’s quest for peace amidst the chaos, only to find herself embroiled in a gruesome new crime that sparks yet another wildly unpredictable adventure through Detroit’s criminal underworld.
