‘Avengers: Endgame Encore’ First Teaser Released and Tickets Available Tomorrow
Marvel Studios continues to entice fans to return to theaters, and this fall, nostalgia plays a key role. With ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ set to debut in December, the studio has been ramping up excitement for the Russo Brothers’ upcoming mega-crossover.
As part of this promotional strategy, Marvel is bringing back one of the MCU’s most iconic films to the big screen ahead of the new release. Since the initial announcement earlier this year, fans have eagerly awaited specific details about what this re-release will entail and when they can experience it.
Now, the wait is over. The first teaser for ‘Avengers: Endgame Encore’ has been unveiled, and tickets for the re-release will officially go on sale tomorrow, offering fans a glimpse of the updated version of the 2019 blockbuster before it returns to theaters.
‘Endgame Encore’ is scheduled to hit theaters worldwide on September 25, arriving approximately twelve weeks before ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ premieres on December 18. This timing is intentional, serving as a direct link between the two films and providing Marvel with a chance to re-engage audiences with the Multiverse Saga ahead of Doctor Doom’s live-action debut.
This re-release is not merely a repeat of the original cut. Reports indicate that it will feature a custom introduction, additional new footage, and a special end tag exclusive to premium formats, providing dedicated fans with a compelling reason to revisit a film they may have seen multiple times. Runtime listings from AMC Theatres suggest the new cut will run for 185 minutes, which is about four minutes longer than the original film’s already extensive runtime.
The re-release is being promoted under Disney’s newly established “Infinity Vision” banner, a premium large-format screening standard introduced specifically for this rollout and for ‘Doomsday’ itself. To earn Infinity Vision certification, a screen must meet specific technical criteria, including a minimum width of 45 feet and immersive sound systems like Dolby Atmos, ensuring that the presentation meets the high expectations fans have for a Marvel blockbuster.
While standard theaters will showcase the new introduction and additional footage, the exclusive end tag will be available only in Infinity Vision and IMAX screenings, providing premium-format audiences with an extra incentive to purchase upgraded tickets. This strategy mirrors Marvel’s previous theatrical events, where exclusive bonus content has driven repeat viewings and premium-format bookings.
‘Avengers: Endgame’ remains one of the highest-grossing films of all time, having earned nearly $2.8 billion globally during its original 2019 release. Bringing it back to theaters, even for a limited time, allows Marvel a low-risk opportunity to remind audiences of the emotional stakes tied to Robert Downey Jr.’s surprising return to the franchise, this time as the villainous Doctor Doom in ‘Doomsday.’
Whether the new footage teased in ‘Endgame Encore’ will provide direct narrative links to ‘Doomsday’ or simply serve as marketing material remains to be seen. Regardless, Marvel is banking on the combination of six years of nostalgia and genuine new content to entice fans back into theaters ahead of one of the studio’s most eagerly awaited releases in years.
With tickets going on sale tomorrow and a full trailer expected to follow soon, excitement for both ‘Endgame Encore’ and ‘Doomsday’ continues to build.
