Alec Baldwin Relists His Hamptons Estate for $19 Million After Years of Market Changes
The world of celebrity real estate is rarely straightforward, and Alec Baldwin’s Hamptons retreat exemplifies this perfectly. The actor’s fluctuating relationship with the market has become a notable narrative, with the estate undergoing numerous listings, price adjustments, and withdrawals over the years.
Baldwin acquired the property in Amagansett, New York, in 1996 for $1.7 million, using it as his family’s summer getaway, even featuring it on the couple’s brief TLC reality series ‘The Baldwins.’ He first listed the home in 2022, initiating a saga filled with varying asking prices and missed opportunities.
This saga has now reached its fourth chapter. As reported by TMZ, Baldwin has relisted the Hamptons home for $19 million, marking the fourth time the property has been on the market since his initial purchase, and reflecting a $2,000,000 decrease from the $21,000,000 he sought just last year.
The timing aligns with a familiar seasonal trend for the property, as Baldwin relists the estate at the end of summer after failing to secure a buyer at the higher price. Historical records show the home has fluctuated in asking prices, peaking at $29,000,000 in 2022 before settling at the current figure, with the listing disappearing from the market multiple times over the past few years.
Spanning 10,000 square feet on a 10-acre lot, the estate features seven bedrooms and seven bathrooms, along with amenities such as a home theater, wine-tasting room, and a wood-paneled library. Originally built in 1740, the property also includes a pool, barn, and expansive grounds adjacent to a nature preserve, providing the kind of scale and privacy typical of the area’s most coveted estates.
Baldwin has even taken unique measures to promote the property, including starring in a promotional video for his real estate brokerage, where he shared fond memories of his long-standing connection to the East End of Long Island. He reminisced about his early days renting a home in Amagansett before ultimately purchasing the property he is now trying to sell, describing those years as some of his best memories of the area.
Despite these personal touches, the home has struggled to find a buyer during previous attempts, even as the Baldwins reportedly accepted an offer at one point before deciding to retain the property. This ongoing indecision continues with the latest relisting, indicating the family is still conflicted about whether to keep the estate or let it go.
Currently, the family resides primarily in New York City and owns a 55-acre property in Vermont, meaning the Hamptons home serves solely as a vacation retreat rather than a necessity. Whether this latest price reduction will finally draw a serious offer remains uncertain, but given the property’s history, another chapter in this real estate saga wouldn’t be surprising.
