Marvel Presents Indiana Jones’ Hunt for the Infinity Gauntlet and More Artifacts
Indiana Jones has spent decades pursuing some of the most iconic relics in human history, from the Ark of the Covenant to the Holy Grail, always staying ahead of those who might misuse such power. Now, Marvel Comics is challenging the famed archaeologist in a new way, placing him directly in the midst of its expansive universe filled with superpowered artifacts.
This crossover signifies a new chapter for the character after a long absence from Marvel’s comic pages. The publisher has been gradually reestablishing Indy’s presence throughout 2026, with deluxe hardcover reprints of his classic 1980s Marvel stories and an entirely new ongoing series already in development ahead of this latest announcement.
Marvel has unveiled five new Indiana Jones Marvel Artifacts variant covers, featuring the archaeologist on a quest for some of the most powerful and recognizable objects in Marvel lore. The covers are illustrated by artists Carmen Carnero, Marco Checchetto, Sara Pichelli, Mahmud Asrar, and Iban Coello, each showcasing Indy alongside a different treasure from Marvel’s mythology.

Among the treasures on Indy’s list is the Infinity Gauntlet, the device famously used by Thanos to wipe out half of all existence, along with Thor’s hammer Mjolnir and Knull’s symbiote-forged blade, All-Black the Necrosword. Additionally, the set includes the Crimson Gem of Cyttorak, which transforms Cain Marko into Juggernaut, and Doctor Doom’s iconic mask, featured on the first cover Marvel revealed for this crossover.

The variant covers will feature across several ongoing Marvel titles, with the Doctor Doom mask cover appearing on ‘Fantastic Four’ #19, while the other artifacts will be showcased on ‘X-Men’ #41, ‘Amazing Spider-Man’ #1004, ‘Thor’ #803, and ‘Venom’ #2. All five covers are set to hit shelves this November, providing collectors and long-time Indy fans with a month full of crossover material to seek out.

This isn’t the only aspect of the character’s Marvel comeback arriving around this time. ‘Indiana Jones: The Further Adventures Book I’ and ‘Book II’, deluxe hardcover collections compiling his beloved 1980s Marvel stories, including adaptations of ‘Raiders of the Lost Ark’, ‘Temple of Doom’, and ‘The Last Crusade’, are set for release in October. A facsimile edition of the character’s very first Marvel appearance is also scheduled for November.

Looking ahead, these artifact covers are paving the way for Indy’s official return to ongoing comic storytelling with ‘Indiana Jones and the Sword of Pandemonium’, a new series by writer Jason Aaron and artist Aaron Kuder that picks up after the events of ‘Raiders of the Lost Ark’. This series is expected to debut in February, ensuring Marvel has a steady stream of Indiana Jones content lined up for the coming months.
With the artifact covers, classic reprints, and the upcoming new series, Marvel is clearly positioning this crossover as the beginning of a much larger initiative for the character rather than a mere standalone event.
