Noah Jupe Joins ‘Avengers: Secret Wars’ in a Key Role Sparking Fan Theories
Marvel’s next major multiversal event is still over a year away from hitting theaters, but the studio is already busy assembling the cast that will lead its Multiverse Saga to its conclusion. With ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ still months from its release, attention is shifting toward what follows, and the initial pieces of that puzzle are starting to emerge.
The upcoming chapter, ‘Avengers: Secret Wars,’ signifies the true culmination of years of interconnected storytelling within the MCU, with Anthony and Joe Russo returning to direct after their work on ‘Doomsday.’ Marvel has been notably secretive about plot details for both films, likely to keep surprises regarding which characters and universes survive the first installment before the second even begins production.
This secrecy extends to the latest casting news as well. According to an exclusive report from Deadline, Noah Jupe has joined ‘Avengers: Secret Wars’ in an undisclosed role, with sources suggesting that the character is expected to play a significant part in the storyline. Marvel Studios has not commented on the casting.
Jupe, recognized for his role as Marcos Abbott in the ‘A Quiet Place’ franchise, brings a remarkable résumé to the project, including his Academy Award-nominated performance in ‘Hamnet’ and credits in ‘Ford v. Ferrari,’ ‘Honey Boy,’ and ‘The Death of Robin Hood.’ He is also set to reprise his role in ‘A Quiet Place: Part III,’ which recently completed production.
Part of the early speculation surrounding Jupe’s casting stems from his recent collaboration with another rising MCU star. Jupe previously starred alongside Sadie Sink in a West End revival of ‘Romeo & Juliet,’ which garnered him strong reviews over the summer. Sink has since made her own MCU debut as Jean Grey in ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ and is anticipated to reprise that role in the upcoming X-Men reboot.
While reports on Jupe’s casting indicate no confirmed connection between his character and Sink’s Jean Grey or the broader X-Men roster, the timing and their previous collaboration have understandably sparked fan theories about a potential reunion within the MCU’s expanding multiverse narrative. Marvel has yet to disclose the character Jupe will portray, leaving ample room for speculation in the meantime.
‘Avengers: Secret Wars’ is set to follow directly after ‘Avengers: Doomsday,’ which unites the X-Men, New Avengers, Fantastic Four, Captain America’s Avengers, Wakanda, and other factions against Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom. The Russo brothers have indicated that the film is already in early pre-production while they continue to finalize work on ‘Doomsday.’
Production on ‘Secret Wars’ is expected to commence later this year, with Kevin Feige producing alongside the returning directing duo. Disney has scheduled the film’s theatrical release for December 17, 2027, marking it as the true finale of the MCU’s expansive Multiverse Saga.
As Marvel continues to keep plot details under wraps for both upcoming Avengers films, Jupe’s casting adds yet another intriguing piece to a puzzle that fans will likely spend the coming months trying to solve. Regardless of the role he ultimately plays, his addition indicates that Marvel is already planning well beyond ‘Doomsday’ as it builds toward the conclusion of this sprawling storyline.
