First Trailer for ‘Kill Jackie’ Drops: Release Date, Cast, and What We Know
Revenge thrillers thrive on their lead performances, and few actresses possess the icy, commanding presence required to anchor one quite like Catherine Zeta-Jones. After a period of balancing prestige dramas with darker, morally complex roles, she is now stepping into a character that fully embraces calculated menace.
The anticipation surrounding this role has finally been matched with visuals. The first trailer for ‘Kill Jackie’ has been unveiled, offering audiences their first glimpse of Zeta-Jones as Jackie Price, a former international drug smuggler and art dealer who has spent the last two decades crafting a quiet, anonymous life abroad. However, her carefully constructed existence is shattered when her past catches up with her.
According to the show’s official premise, Jackie’s world turns deadly when she learns that The Seven Demons, a group of the world’s most feared hitmen, have been specifically hired to kill her. Instead of fleeing, Jackie embarks on a mission to hunt them down one by one before they can complete their deadly task, swiftly transforming the narrative from prey to predator.
‘Kill Jackie’ features Zeta-Jones alongside a talented ensemble cast, including Daniel Ings, Bill Paterson, and Ron Perlman in significant roles. The broader cast also features Sidse Babett Knudsen, Óscar Jaenada, Hattie Hook, Darci Shaw, Raff Law, Enzo Cilenti, Christine Adams, Julian Rhind-Tutt, Julian Barratt, and several familiar faces from projects like ‘The Gentlemen,’ ‘Borgen,’ and ‘House of the Dragon.’
The series is based on “The Price You Pay,” a novel by Sunday Times bestselling author Nick Harkaway, who wrote under the pseudonym Aidan Truhen. Notably, the adaptation changes the book’s original male protagonist to Zeta-Jones’ Jackie, reshaping the story’s central revenge arc around a woman reclaiming control of her narrative rather than merely reacting to threats.

Behind the scenes, ‘Kill Jackie’ boasts an impressive lineup of television talent. The eight-part series was co-created by Conor Keane and Tom Butterworth of ‘Gangs of London,’ alongside Peter Lawson of the ‘John Wick’ franchise and Damon Thomas of ‘Killing Eve.’ Butterworth serves as writer and showrunner, while Thomas takes on directing duties.
‘Kill Jackie’ is set to premiere on October 2 on AMC+ in the United States, with the show also launching the same day on Prime Video across the UK, Ireland, Canada, and several European territories, along with a Stan release in additional markets. This coordinated multi-platform rollout indicates significant confidence from the show’s backers as it approaches launch.
With the pedigree behind the project, from Harkaway’s source material serving as executive consultant to a creative team with ties to some of television’s most acclaimed thrillers of the past decade, ‘Kill Jackie’ arrives with considerable momentum. Whether Zeta-Jones’ portrayal of a reformed smuggler-turned-vigilante lives up to that pedigree will be revealed once the full eight-episode season is released.
