‘The Hunger Games’ Star Jennifer Lawrence Opens Up About Cosmetic Procedures
Celebrity beauty speculation has become a modern spectator sport, with fans analyzing every red carpet photo for signs of cosmetic work that stars often avoid discussing. Jennifer Lawrence has been under this scrutiny for years, and she has now chosen to address the questions herself, on her own terms.
The Oscar-winning actress has spent much of her career responding to online speculation about her appearance, especially after a surge of theories in 2023 suggested she had undergone significant facial work. Instead of dodging the topic, Lawrence has increasingly opened up in recent interviews about the cosmetic treatments she has, and hasn’t, actually tried.
In a conversation with Vogue, Lawrence confirmed that she regularly receives what is known as “baby Botox,” a technique that uses smaller doses of botulinum toxin to soften fine lines while maintaining facial movement. “I need to have movement in my face, I get baby Botox, but I can’t do a lot,” Lawrence told Vogue, explaining her preference for some natural sagging over losing expressiveness on screen. “If my skin is going to be a little saggier than I would like, at least it looks dewy and pretty.”
Beyond Botox, Lawrence revealed a specific cosmetic procedure she would love to try but has refrained from pursuing due to her fame. “I would love to have a buccal fat removal. I can’t because everybody would know, but just know that I want that,” she admitted.
Buccal fat removal involves surgically removing fat pads between the cheekbones and jawline, creating a more sculpted facial appearance by reducing fullness in the lower cheeks. Lawrence made it clear that her interest is genuine, even if she’s not willing to go through with it while remaining a recognizable public figure.
She also discussed fat transfer procedures, which involve moving fat from one part of the body to another for a more sculpted look, expressing her hesitance about trying that specific treatment herself. “I’m really nervous about these fat transfers. I support other people doing them because I want to continue to watch and see what happens, but I don’t know about that,” she explained.
This isn’t the first time Lawrence has spoken candidly about cosmetic procedures. Back in October 2025, she told The New Yorker she was considering a breast enhancement procedure after the birth of her second son earlier that year, noting how her body responded differently after each pregnancy.
“Everything bounced back, pretty much, after the first one,” Lawrence said, referring to her first son, Cy, born in 2021. “Second one, nothing bounced back.” She acknowledged that her fame influences her decision-making around the procedure, admitting she probably wouldn’t be as eager to pursue it if she weren’t in the public eye.
Lawrence’s latest comments reflect a broader trend of openness she has adopted in recent years, following persistent online speculation about her changing appearance. She previously addressed rumors directly with Interview magazine, clarifying that losing baby weight in her face as she aged led fans to mistakenly assume she’d had a nose job, when in reality her cheeks had simply become smaller over time.
She has also confirmed in past interviews that she has used Botox, while explicitly denying ever getting fillers, as she wants to avoid the overly altered look associated with excessive filler use. Through her honesty about Botox, curiosity about buccal fat removal, and openness regarding post-pregnancy body changes, Lawrence seems determined to control her own narrative rather than allowing online speculation to define it for her.
