Franchise milestones have become almost routine for Marvel and Sony’s latest web-slinging blockbuster, with the film seemingly breaking new records every weekend it remains in theaters. Despite intensified competition from other major releases this fall, this particular Spidey adventure continues to carve out fresh territory on the all-time charts.

Maintaining such consistency deep into a theatrical run is no small feat, especially as a film approaches titles that once seemed untouchable. Yet ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ has been clearing these benchmarks with surprising ease.

‘Brand New Day’ has now crossed $2.4 billion at the global box office, making it just the third film in history to reach this milestone. This achievement came alongside a strong sixth overseas weekend, where the film earned $26.1 million internationally, reflecting a modest 41.3% drop compared to the international declines seen by ‘No Way Home’ and ‘Avengers: Endgame’ at similar points in their runs.

This international performance has pushed ‘Brand New Day’s’ overseas total past $1.49 billion across 66 markets, allowing it to surpass ‘Zootopia 2’s international haul and claim the title of Hollywood’s fifth-highest-grossing film of all time overseas. This is a significant achievement, especially considering ‘Zootopia 2’ had one of the biggest global openings in animated film history just months earlier, as per box office reports.

Domestically, ‘Brand New Day’ has already become the highest-grossing superhero film of all time in North America, contributing to its combined global total well beyond the $2.4 billion mark. This domestic strength, combined with its international success, has made the film one of the most comprehensive box office performers of the year across all major markets.

The film’s overall financial picture becomes even more impressive when considering its production budget. With a reported net production cost of $225 million, not including marketing, ‘Brand New Day’ has generated over ten times that amount globally, making it one of the most profitable studio releases of the year across all genres.

For context on how rare this achievement is, Deadline has reported that ‘Brand New Day’ recently became Sony Pictures’ highest-grossing release ever in thirty-six international markets, including major territories like Italy, Spain, and India. Such widespread international success is uncommon even among the biggest blockbusters, which often excel in select regions rather than dominating globally.

Looking ahead, industry trackers now anticipate the film will finish its run between $2.5 billion and $2.6 billion worldwide. This range would place it comfortably ahead of ‘No Way Home’s $1.69 billion total at the same stage of release, while still trailing ‘Avengers: Endgame’s $2.7 billion pace. Given the film’s remarkably consistent performance week after week, reaching the higher end of that projection seems increasingly likely.

With yet another all-time record now in its grasp, ‘Brand New Day’ continues to establish itself as one of the defining box office stories of the year, regardless of which title holds the number one spot on any given weekend.
