Netflix’s hit rom-com ‘Nobody Wants This‘ has captivated audiences over two seasons, showcasing the unique relationship between an agnostic podcaster and an unconventional rabbi. Fans are eagerly anticipating the next chapter in this engaging story, which has turned Joanne and Noah into a beloved pop culture phenomenon.

The wait is nearly over. Season 2 concluded on a high note, with Joanne and Noah finally committing to each other after a season filled with tension and family complications that threatened to keep them apart.

Netflix has officially announced that ‘Nobody Wants This’ Season 3 will premiere on Thursday, October 22. Along with the announcement, the first set of official photos has been released, featuring Joanne and Noah surrounded by moving boxes, hinting at a significant new chapter in their relationship.

According to Netflix’s synopsis, Season 3 will see Joanne and Noah moving into a new home and solidifying their relationship, embracing all the exciting “firsts” that come with building a life together. Meanwhile, Sasha and Esther will find themselves back in the dating scene, while Morgan advances her career.

Co-showrunner Jenni Konner described this new season as the show’s most ambitious yet, stating to VitalThrills that it feels like champagne. Creator Erin Foster echoed this sentiment, revealing that the writers’ room used a simple test for every new storyline, asking if it felt like champagne before proceeding.

Kristen Bell and Adam Brody will reprise their roles as Joanne and Noah, joined by returning cast members Justine Lupe as Morgan, Timothy Simons as Sasha, and Jackie Tohn as Esther. Other returning faces include Shiloh Bearman, Sherry Cola, Stephanie Faracy, Michael Hitchcock, Paul Ben-Victor, and Tovah Feldshuh.

The new season will also introduce a strong lineup of new and recurring characters. Andrew Rannells and Keyla Monterroso Mejia will appear as Joanne’s conversion classmates, Sebastien and Amber, while comedian Sarah Silverman will join the cast as their Intro to Judaism teacher, Rabbi Eden.

Additional guest stars include Avan Jogia, Poorna Jagannathan, Sadie Sandler, Stephanie Koenig, and Steven Weber, with series creator Erin Foster making an on-screen appearance as well. Jenni Konner and Bruce Eric Kaplan will return as showrunners and executive producers alongside Foster, Bell, Sara Foster, Nora Silver, Steven Levitan, Danielle Stokdyk, and Jeff Morton.

One notable change in Season 3 is the departure from the traditional will-they-won’t-they narrative. Instead of focusing on grand romantic gestures, the new season will explore the realities of what happens after a couple has committed to each other, a phase often overlooked in romantic comedies.

This thematic shift also extends to Esther and Morgan, who will each navigate their own “after” periods in their personal and professional lives. This structural choice aligns perfectly with what has made the series stand out from other typical entries in the genre since its inception.

With a stellar cast, a confirmed release date, and creators promising their boldest season yet, ‘Nobody Wants This’ is set to be another highly anticipated fall release for Netflix.
